I lost my old headliner board after I took it out and it was basically worthless and I'm going to make a new one, but I don't know the dimentions for the headliner board. Does anyone know the dimentions so I can make a new one? I'd rather spend the $10 to make a new board than buy a new one for $120.
You will have to go to the junkyard, at least to get a pattern. It's not a simple square. And it's molded, so it's not simple to make either.
it doesn't seem that different from this 70s headliner board https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1099462-headliner-on-the-cheap.html
And if I had the general length and width so I could make a rectangle I could trim everything to make it fit. I don't mind the challenge
They used masonite in your link. The only suggestion I have is to get some cardboard and make your own pattern.
I was going to use Masonite... I guess I could make my own pattern from cardboard first if it would make it a little simpler, I have a few giant boxes from LMC that I could probably use. Do you know what the length and width of the cab is so I could have a general starting point?
Don't you have the truck?
Could get your own measurements for it.
Now if the cardboard works you can coat it with fiber glass rosin so moister will not hurt it. I have also heard of people using Elmers glue that moister can not hurt it.

Franklin's right; the headliner board is molded as you can see in the picture with reliefs in the corners. It's made from a cardboard. The one I have is being repaired (PO must have pushed on it). Note overall size.
The corners can and will break off, especially where the sunvisors bolt on. I just always patched it on the back with duct tape, just to hold it together long enough for the headliner to be glued in place. It will hold it together once it's glued to the cardboard.
If you choose to buy instead of making one LMC has them. We put the highliner with speakers in our '83. The real benefit was being able to DIN mount a stereo without hacking up the dash.
