ive done a few searches and honestly are tired of reading and getting nowhere. go ahead and flame me for it lol, but mine has no headliner, is this something that you guys have a common pattern and build it? something i can only use a factory replacement? where can i get a factory replacement? lmc says they cant get it. any help would be greatly appreciated.
like me your are gonna have to find one in the wrecking yard. Good luck. I found one in a lariat that I will have recovered to the color of my interior.
i was afraid of that. so are there no companies that repro them? they guy i bought it from and i quote "took it out cause i didnt like it, i was planning on building one out of a nice wood" i asked where it was, his response, "i dont know i wadded it up and threw it away" that hurt my feelings
I found mine at the junk yard. I actually snagged it out of a '95 F250. I brought it home and set my trim on it to get a pattern to trim it down (it was slightly bigger than the '79 headliner). I only had to trim about an inch off the outside border. Then I recovered it with some fabric to match my interior and now I have the cool dome light with the spots too!
im in the same boat i think il borrow that idea and get a 90's headliner ive had my truck 2+ years and ive yet to even see a s-cab dent in the parts yards
i didnt figure it would be an easy find. ill be on the lookout for a 250 at the pull a part and see what i can find. ill post up in my build thread once i get it done.
I've got one from my truck, '79 f350 supercab, that is trashed but will work for an outline to make my own... If you pay the postage I'll trace it out for you on some butcher paper, roll it up and send you a head liner patter in a tube. Let me know. I always planned on making an aluminum diamond plate one but lately I’ve been toying with the idea of taking the butcher paper pattern and putting a nice thick coat of bedliner on it and trying that out. Could be color matched to the bed liner on the cab floor, low gloss and might have some sound deadening effects to it too...
Formica countertop material. I rent a shop right next door to a cabinet guy and we used the thinnest material he had. It stayed flexible for the double bends and worked perfectly. Total cost, material and all, was probably around 70 bucks IIRC. That was for leather, not vinyl, as well.
