So my power steering pump is going bad and wanted to know if anyone has a link for a how to replace it, or at least any tips
Have to do it this weekend becouse I have to drive 12 hours Monday any advice will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Looking at the workshop DVD, there does not appear to be anything particular about the removal and installation of the pump. The one area of concern is the aeration of the PS fluid. Since you do not have a vacuum fill setup, try to fill fluid and circulate it by running engine for a short duration, add fluid and repeat this as necessary. I would then let it sit over night if possible and check fluid level in the morning and repeat the adding if more fluid is needed as mentioned above.
You can rent the tool to remove the fully off the old pump provided the new pump does not come with it. I would inspect the serpentine belt also and consider replacing it at this time.
There was a mention of removing the left inner fender panel to gain more access to the fittings on the pump.
