I have a 1978 f-150 reg cab 8ft styleside bed and i have looked just about everywhere and i cannot find a replacement floor panel for the bed is there anywhere that actually sells that whole piece or is that something im actually going to have to make myself???? I can get all the rest of the panels through LMC but its that one panel thats holding me back from finishing out the restoration and paint lol
In my National Parts Depot catalog, I see on page 201 "Bed Floor 73-79 F100-F350 8' bed, repro, complete," part number F-011215-7A, $499.95
That's what the catalog says but when you click on the part number, the price is actually $700.00!
The last time I checked, the bed floor was still available from Ford. The floor is the same from '73 to '96.
I checked, they're still available. Tasca Ford shows it as P/N BC3Z-9911215-A List $970.93 Tasca online price $675.77
These old trucks ain't cheap to put back like new I see.
Did my 77's bed floor with a piece of 11 gage steel bought 10' X 5' years ago, cut to length, nothed sides to fit around fender lumps, fastened to inner bed sides .... then used the near 2' X 5' piece and had a buddy "break" a lip, lapped it over top at front and reinforced the front wall. Lots of paint and a "under the lip" drop in covered it.
Yeah Rich, with the exception of the right and left tail posts, the inner sheetmetal is the same from '73-'96. That comes in handy especially if you have a shortbed with good outer quarters and a bad floor or inner quarters. Finding a later shortbed is easier than the '73-'79 version.
UPDATE:
I did a search to see if any dealers have one in stock. I was surprised that there are five dealers with one in stock and there's one dealer in Houston that shows six (!) in stock.
The OP's profile shows he's in VA. Probably the closest dealer to him that has one in stock is Fred Beans, in Doylestown, PA (877) 942-3267.
Just so you know, the dealer cost on the floor pan is $582.56.
And, before anyone asks, the shortbed version of the floor pan is no longer available.
Yeah Rich, with the exception of the right and left tail posts, the inner sheetmetal is the same from '73-'96.
I thought that was the case .... if I ever do get to do mine, I could get a later 8" bed and use my new bedsides on it .... if needed. Not sure what that 11 gage steel looks like under the liner ..... been there 25 years anyway.
