Talking bed floor panels

I found a company, Parker Metal Supply, that sells floor panel sections for $14.90 in 16"x 48" sections. I called the company this morning and they are willing to sell in bulk for $10 per section. They can send up to 6 setions per package via UPS. Their panels are limited by the size of their die that they stamp them on. You can contact them at 724-224-2472, ask for Chad or Chas. I asked for a 1/2" by 12" section to see how it matches up to the bed floor of my '64. So we will see how it fits when it gets here. Hopefully it will be a good deal.

bed panals

Mark,

I would be interested in several depending on how your sample matches. I have quite a few rust holes (< 1/2") in my bed of my 64 SWB. Thanks fro the heads up!

Also interested. Previous owner hacked away on 65 lwb for fuel filler necks when he installed exterior tanks. Have since removed the tanks and intend to patch in new panels. Although bed has had lot of heavy use, would be considerably cheaper to weld in couple patches than replace. National Parts Depot (NPD), and LMC have 48"X15" panels, 67-72, for $23.50, but don't know who well they would match. There is also another option am considering, bookmarked thread by FTE member, believe it was on his 66, who replaced entire bed from later model truck and used the original side panels to maintain appearance.

According the Chad, it takes 6 panel to do the entire floor. Either way if you have a few on hand for anything that happens later on it's a good investment. One part of the floor would have two 12" sections to be welded together. Which I don't care since I have the patience to grind the welds smooth if I get a new floor.

1964/66 bed panels are different than 1967/72 panels. The 4 side panels on the 64/66's (1 front of wheel housing, 1 rear-per side) were not sold separately originally...they are part of the bed side panel.

Numbers, appreciate the info. and not excited about side panels being part of the bed panel. O'well, project is so far down the to do list am in no hurry and will be patiently waiting to see what airharley finds out.

Ok I called them back to get a few measurements on how large the coragations are. I feel like such a pain at times. :-) The peaks are 1" wide, the valleys are 1 1/8" wide, and the risers or angled parts are 1/2". I went out to compare the measurements; the peaks are 1.5", valleys 1 5/8", and 7/16" tall risers for my '64. For me this isn't that big of a deal since I am replacing the whole floor. Break out your measuring tapes and check yours. It might or might not fit exactly.

Daveengleson, I looked for that thread about replacing the bed floor with one from a different truck and couldn't find it . Could you tell me how to find it . I was thinking about taking the floor out of a 75 and putting it in my 66 . Tom

Tom, tried the web page and only got the members' host photo server, hopefully they are not holding his gallery hostage until he pays his bill. Perhaps Jowilker still has pic's and can post them again.

I ordered panels from these guys today. The measurements on the later 70s model though match up better for my '66. I am replacing the entire bed floor anyway though. I'd much rather have these panels that are stamped in the USA than something that comes from overseas via LMC with a disclaimer that it will arrive damaged!
