Update
Pulled two spade connectors from the fuse box now radio is silent, I guess they were for constant and switched ac?
Any thing from the fuse box (depending on what end of the fuse it is) I would consider hot at all times. Is there a problem here?
One particular question , I have a random braided ground behind the carb on the cab that connects to nowhere, I'm thinking this is the engine ground?
Yessuh...engine to cab ground....it should bolt in to the intake behind the carb. I believe there are two threaded holes in back and to the right of the carb. One holds a throttle return spring dealie..I think. The other could be used for the ground connection.
Batt - goes to the engine block then a second ground from the engine block goes to the frame this appears to be a series configuration.
I had to wire in a secondary seatbelt with a working latch to get a working seatbelt tone, my guess is that connection went south, checking...
.....but without that retainer for the vacuum advance arm to the stator I'm stuck at this point, junkyard bound..
You mean this little gizmo-pete?
C clip from vac arm to stator base.
I think those puppies can be had at Tractor Supply, Aubuchon's maybe even HomeoCheapeo.
Tractor supply bound, thank you yet again.
No problems with radio just pulled the connectors
Will perform secondary visual inspection for a place to attach ground.
Cajole wiring on seatbelt switch remove if troubled, it was a novelty anyway.
Speculation arising regarding the concerns of this being a fuel delivery issue have me looking for a carb kit for the 0-3310s Holley. The accelerator pump diaphragm in particular going bad could I believe also choke out the fuel supply. The fuel pump is recent but when I changed it I also relocated the fuel filter in front of the carb instead of prior to the fuel pump, but the carb is getting a healthy dose of fuel.
Tomorrow is another day
Thank you for the pictures, I got the clips.
That baseplate on my intake is riveted on.
Put it all back together and it started on the first crank ran poorly for a little while, died and won't idle, but if you give it a little throttle it will run, poorly.
Another woe, my choke plate is wide open and will not close unless forced down and even then it pops back up, it's like its own backwards because the electric choke, which needs to be checked, doesn't restrain the plate only pull it down to wide open.
At a lost one this one maybe the timing is way off, I don't know, no timing light, won't run anyway.
Update
Baseplate wasn't riveted it was t30, got that grounded.
Choke apparently working properly, still would like to check the voltage to the electric choke.
So now I'm back to thinking the problem is in the Timing and carburetor.
Time to buy a timing light and carb rebuild kit.
Thanks for all the troubleshooting help.
