Yes, doors first. My paint/body man said the doors align with the cab itself. The bed is then bolted to the frame, and the cab aligned with the bed by tightening the cab's mounts and/or shimming. Then the radiator support goes on and the fenders are hung, and you align the fenders with the cab with shims and shim the radiator support to make the body lines run straight.
Other than cab to bed, I would do it the other way around, bed to cab as my cab is already bolted down. I may need to shim cab up a little but?, I did doors to cab, and my fenders & support were 1 unit so it was fenders to doors shimming support as needed.

bill, the vapor box and line are on the right side. the line I'm confused is on the left side. at the FORD illustration, U can see it ended at the mechancial fuel pump. but I can't see exactly by,at,in the pump.
There was a mechanical pump with a vapor return system, I believe Gary Lewis has the information on it. Does your truck have a relay or relays on the driver's side of the firewall? One relay could be for a trailer tow option, two would most likely have been for the hot fuel handling package as 1985 used two relays, and three would indicate hot fuel package and trailer tow.
Yes, there was an 85 7.5L that got a mechanical fuel pump with a return line, and I believe that is what is shown in that drawing.
But, mine has electric in-tank pumps with the hot-fuel setup, and it only has one relay for the fuel pump. The other two relays there are for the trailer and exterior lights.
Gary, apparently the hot fuel package had some mid-year changes, the diagram that has been posted a while back of the 85 system actually shows two relays, a pump relay and a tank selector relay, 1986 only used the pump relay.
I agree - there were several iterations. Big Blue, which was built in May of '85 so is a late '85, is wired as shown in your '86 EVTM with no tank selector relay, just the switch. Or, maybe I should say "was" wired as things aren't as they were. But, there's no extra relay.
"she" has to be very late, tells the tag
and she hit the road in southern california, cos there was a dealer sticker on the gate from san diego.
dont know if she has intank pumps, but there is the 6port selector valve + the mechanical fuelpump and a fuel return line I dont know were to connect with.
Just noticed something on your label, you said yours is a 4 speed, "K" transmission code is a C6, so that has been changed, wonder what else has been changed/modified in 30+ years?

PS, btw. who's got the latest bullnose at FTE ?
That reg looks to be used for turbo or super charged motors as it has the small port on the top so fuel psi can be adjusted when needed when boost goes up.

just investigate that I has a tilt, but unhooked wheel, a broken upper bearing
a slappy, but adjustable joint
an almost non working distributor(vac advance).
