Steve, I thought you'd like the RR pictures.

Renovo was a town built for PRR repair shops. It was built there since it was halfway between Harrisburg, PA and Buffalo, NY. Renovo comes from the latin for renew. The town nestled in the deep valley made by the Susquehanna River was a bustling town and the final destination of many immigrants from southern and eastern Europe. The shops closed years ago and the town is dieing . Some say it is already dead. It is difficult to get industries to move up there. There is a plan in the works to build a natural gas electric generation plant. Permits have been let but construction has not started yet.... and now with a "new administration in power" and their anti fracking stance it might be in danger of completion.

Looks like a couple of Dodge/Plymouths on the left surrounding your yellow 56. A Dodge pickup in front of your red dump truck. A whole bunch of Chevrolets with a Studee in the middle, a Ford wagon and maybe a Cadillac next to it. The rest are getting a little blurry on my screen to accurately identify.

Very true. But I meant are the trucks 56 Fords? The yellow one is, I'm quite sure, but wasn't sure about red one.

Such is the fate of most railroad towns, even altoona's down and out. Hard to imagine when Pennsey had more money and manpower than the entire government of the US.

Energy independence is overrated, I look forward to the next model year of eternal wars abroad instead of using the energy resources we already have here. Makes perfect sense.

No, but I'd like to go there and the Strasburg museum eventually. The T1 Trust owes me a cab ride so maybe i'll cash it in then.

Some day, soon enough.

If you make the trip someday, you’ll have to stop in for a visit. We live 16 miles from Strasburg. Dennis

The guy on the roof is taking it all in, listening quietly to the blowhard down below yelling senseless orders. He shifts the chaw of tobacco from one cheek to the other, getting it good and ripe for the upcoming spit. While he positions himself for optimal wind assistance by getting closer to the edge, it is then he decides that the windshield and hood are the best targets, with overspray getting the hat and white pants of the blowhard. He gives a barely imperceptible nod to Charlie down on the deck of the second floor to turn and watch. Charlie knew in a moment what was going to happen, and a big grin spread across his face. Norman up there has been spitting since he was 12, and could hit anything he put his mind to. That Chevy didn't have a chance, nor did the owner who was about to regret telling them how to do their job.
