Four more "trucks".
1. Truck hidden behind the icon.
2. Abe thinks it's a truck, looks like it.
3. Jeepster. According to the tax people SUVs are "trucks". Never argue with the tax people, we'll call it a truck.
4. He should have test started the boat last night. He was tired when he got home for work, and he was sure it would start, so he waited until this morning. He had some issues getting it to run which caused them to leave the house almost two hours late. She was right, by the way, all the picnic tables and what she thought were the best places to spread a picnic blanket were taken by the time they got to the lake.
He was so tired of being nagged at, he jumped out of the truck, forgetting to set the parking brake, and instead of throwing the three-on-the-tree into Reverse, he had thrown it into Second Gear.
They just finished the new highway last year. He wanted to run with the newer, faster cars so he installed higher gears in the rear end. This, along with the steep grade, allowed the combined weight of the truck and boat to over come the compression and allow the rig to start rolling back.
He had just climbed into the back of the boat to loosen the strap, he used one of those instead of the transom hooks, when the rig began to roll. Instead of reaching her foot over to the brake pedal, she rolled down the window to yell at him. It's a good thing she did because the plug over the brake cylinder was missing and allowed the cab of the truck to quickly fill with water. She was then able to climb out of the open window. That is her on the right, standing on the hood next to the top of the cab, glaring at him.
The truck had built up enough speed for the backward spinning engine to suck water up the exhaust into the cylinders, hydro-locking the engine, cracking 2 pistons, bending 2 rods, and warping the crank.
That's him standing in the back of the submerged boat to the left holding the 5-gallon boat tank to keep water from contaminating the fuel. He had just opened the little air valve on top of the tank. You know if you forget to open that valve the boat engine will starve and the boat will sputter and quit before you even get a quarter of the way across the lake. That would be so embarrassing.

No allowance. Friends got allowances, which I knew nothing about until I got older in school and friends talked about them. When I asked about the allowance thing with my folks, that was the answer I got. When I got to be 12 or 13 I got a paper route to pay for my own 'adequate clothing'. The saving of paper route money is what paid for my first F1 at age 15.

When I was real young, my parents must have been more "enlightened" than Wayne's, because my allowance was 10 cents a week. In seventh or eighth grade, I got a paper route. I had 90 customers-- made $6.00 a week--and kept the route until I was a senior and able to land my first summer job in a factory. I always saved half of what I made--some of which ended up in the afore mentioned black hole of the, "Automotive Engine Associates", fiasco.
