Anyhow the guy in front of me had a cab and chassis Ford Ranger truck to scrap. From the rear it looked good. No rust, no dents, no damage that I could see. The doors were good and the mirrors were good.... that is until the grappling hooks got a hold of it and put it on a like of other vehicles. Why didn't the guy take off all the good parts and sell them? Good thing it wasn't a 48-56 Ford or I'd have jumped in front of those grappling hooks and stopped the guy from grabbing it!

Interesting. my parents were there for the earthquake. My brother was about a year old and my mom was pregnant with my sister. Dad was stationed there, he enlisted to avoid the draft. That gave him more options of where he would be stationed. My mom was a kindergarten teacher. The school was torn in half. I'm pretty sure there is a box somewhere in their basement with a bunch of newspapers of the quake.

Took our old micro wave and some other steel to the scrapper today. Good thing i had some brass plumbing fixtures..... I got $3 for the steel but $14 for the brass.

The last 3 saturdays I’ve been running to the scrap yard. I took a dozen water heaters and was surprised, steel was almost doubled from the last time I took some. Brass this week was up 7 cents a pound from last week at $2.07. I had 81 lbs of submersible pump wire and that brought $2.01 a pound. #1 copper was 3.03, #2 stopper was $3.03. I’m trying to clean up the shop.

Oops, #1 copper was $3.30. Steel was $7.00 a hundred. I have probably 2 dozen water heaters in my brothers barn. I can’t get to my trailer yet because of the snow. Should be able to get to it after this weekend.
