Good morning all. Short timers is kicking in, vacation next week. No customer stuff on the calendar, just my vehicles...and the Dangitdontgo that I think has the PCM went kaput.
No 300's in stock, pretty sure RS might? I have to go to the grandsons house this weekend and since I am going to be that much closer to the guy coming over from Oklahoma, I am hauling the Bronco top. Almost anything to make a sale, right?
Yessir RC, the factory manual doesn't give any trouble tree for diagnosing PCM, Cam senor or crank sensor. It could be any of those three items. I'm no good at the parts swapper thing (I'm cheap), so I'm searching for diagnostic help, I'm about to break down and pay for an Alldata membership.
chip..unless you will use the membership often i would not get the all data service..i had it and was very disappointed .. diagnostics's is usually more complicated than just looking at some wiring diagrams or retrieving some stored code the computer gives ya.. if nothing else make a few checks with a volt and ohm meter, then when you have your best educated guess go hit a pic-n-pull looking for a seriously wrecked car or one with a obvious fault other than a engine start problem... but you should do what you would feel best with.. its your car..and your money..
I almost said I gulf , at lunch on the weather channel their getting a hurricane . RC in my opion you should go with lake .
Chip what is it maybe we can find one you can plug into for a start no start
My body is giving out under the pressure. I've lost 10-15 pounds over the last two weeks. I can't think. I'm so stressed out over this dang truck. I'm exhausted. I actually laid on the floor at O'Reily's today while I was waiting on them to get to me because I just didn't have the strength to stand that long. ...something's got to give. It's starting to look like I may have to cancel my show because there's no way in hell I'm gonna have my stuff done in time.
good morning missouri... feels a lot cooler out there than it has in a while.. maybe the weather is starting to change for the better..
alan.. i hope you are near the end of this job..
speaking of jobs.. i played with bullet some yesterday.. the wiring is a little confusion.. jeff is the "new" good wiring harness the one that is installed in the truck right now? if it is i think you may of had some rodent issues.
i looked at the other harness and it had several 'warm wires' in it so in guess the one in the truck is the new one..

Reason: add pictures
i guess i will just work with whatever is needed to make it start and run.. will deal with the rest of it once i am for sure of the mechanical situation..
Morning folks, RC I at least see a intermittent wiper control box.
Alan just relax and get the #1 item completed, you have come so far on it to wreck yourself over it now. So try to slow down, and take it a little easier on the body and mind...HR is the paying gig, so it has the #1 priority.
Just change your plans a bit to make life easier on YOU. So if your truck is not done, OK so it isn't. Not the end of the world, one man can only do so much in a 24 hr time period.
morning , RC it's got tires, motor and seat . Wiring does not look to good though . We had a new car no start , when henerys dropped the car off a ground hog jumped off of truck bed . Had eaten the wires off the trans flush with the bushing .
Good morning all. RC, I'm going to spend some time this week diagnosing it and tomorrow morning hitting my local recycler and maybe even the salvage yard down the road from the house, the PCM is super easy to get to on it, just need to find the same driveline in Durango or Dakota and supposedly the PCM will swap.
Rich. It's a double edged dagger. This will be the second time I canceled on a promoter. That's not something the new kid can afford to do. On the other hand, just getting HR done will give me reputation points on building trucks. If I screw that up, not many people if any will place an order. If I don't get them both done, I lose that part of the industry for a while. It sucks, but that's the way it is. I did manage to finish the headers today, so there's one more thing checked off the list.
