Morning folks, so RC the swelling finally went down in your legs? You might get that checked out at the VA..just saying. Or did you already, I can't remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday.
rich i have been to the VA ..they did all kinds of tests, then gave me some antibiotics, compression socks, knee brace and some spironolactone.. not sure what helped but i am getting better... not 100% yet but at least 75%..
no idea what i had yesterday... but on thursday sept. 29th 1966 i had corn flakes and a grapefruit ...
I got to drive a 67 or a 69 F600 Fire truck with 2269 miles on it today. Had to relocate it to rural fire dept bldg.
They have the horn/SIREN wired up to the steering wheel horn button. And it works great!
It is about gut less though , even with an empty 500 gal water tank. And the brakes are sketchy (I would say only one front caliper is not working or sticking) to say the least.
Sorry no action over the hood pics, I was to busy driving that thing.
Calipers? I'm pretty sure that rig has drum brakes all around.
RC, I'm glad whatever they did helped. Rich, that is way cool! I'm off to irritate customers. Have a great day all. Looks like we're taking the Japanese Corvette and 99 Corvette to the Versailles Apple Festival car show tomorrow. Next year will be a 75 Dentside and 67 Shivalay stepside.
Morning all. I finally got a moment to catch up and check in. The last couple of weeks have been insane and I've had just enough energy at the end of the day to walk the dog and collapse. Next week only looks marginally better so I'm trying to relax as much as possible.
Stupid trivia of the day - Toyota engineered their OBD II system so that when an emissions code is thrown, it disables the stability & traction controls and ABS system and activates the warning lights. Wife's car lit up like a Christmas tree Monday. I poked and prodded at the latter systems trying to find something wrong for a while before giving up on that and tackled the emissions code. After finding out she forgot to put the cap on over the weekend, I cleared the codes for the emissions test failure to see what came back when it was fired back up. To my amazement, all the lights went out and have stayed off.
That's not exclusively a Toyata thing, Dave. GM has done the same/similar thing for the last 7 or 8 years. 95% of the time the 'check engine' light comes on, it has zilch to do with how the car actually runs, but more to do with excess pollutants. Getting more lights to come on gets people more interested in getting the lights off.

But has GM had the ABS & Stability systems respond to the emissions code? I know folks have had codes thrown for the gas cap for a while but have never heard of the other.
