Ok I'm sure this has been answered somewhere and I am blind and not seeing it. I have a 1992 F Super Duty which is basically a 450. Has a 7.3 ltr Idi. I was having a lot of shifting issues had a transmission shop do diagnosis on transmission. So far new computer new solenoid pack new shift kit new vss (shop said output shaft sensor mine has vss instead.) I put a different fsom in due to trace burt. Still needs rear seal replaced. I can get into gear now and it engages but as I drive down the road it will not shift. I am at a loss here engine is strong as hell but this trans is making me want to blow it up. It shifts around 35mph smoothly but its way too late
If you're not getting ANY code you're doing it wrong. It will ALWAYS report codes. You will either get error codes or a pass code, but there are ALWAYS codes.
ok I got the codes and they are for loss of signal from vss lack shorted solenoid #2 neutral safety switch basically same ones that the transmission shop told me and the parts have been replaced already. My thought here is that the wiring harness is messed up it seems to be the only thing that hasnt been replaced. thoughts suggestions ideas
actual codes 23 o
67 o
92 o

Reason: forgot the actual codes
Has no one thought to check the FLPS (fuel lever position sensor or throttle position sensor) on the left side of the injector pump, those dont last a super long time anyway and will make the e4od act all kinds of stupid if it is bad or even just out of adjustment. I have fought this battle a couple of times myself and I dont think most trans techs even know this exists because I had 1 trans rebuilt twice before the shop figured it out. best of luck with it

Actually I did replace the tps and it wouldn't start at all. Put the old one back in and turned right over. Literally it's killing me

Loose connection somewhere. The transmission/TPS has zero control over the engine. The engine has /one/ wire which needs power for the engine to run(the fss solenoid, top of the IP).
