Hi Macrobb, I was reading an old post about air intrusion on a IDI and you wrote "Add a squeeze-bulb between the mechanical fuel pump and the fuel filter." I'd like to know more about your solution, I'm having a condition that only shows up during the cold months of PA winters. During the summer she fires up fine. How did you bleed the air out of the bulb? was it a pass through bulb with a flapper check valve contained inside, like the old kerosene pumps? Do you have to prime the system everytime prior to starting? I was really surprised that no one responded to your post, I found it to be an ingenious solution to a very common problem, that can be very difficult to resolve. Thanks for any response, have a great day, john

    Hi Macrobb,

I'm interested in putting in a hand primer bulb like you've suggested in a few threads. Just wondering where you put it?
Did you remove the hard fuel line after the mechanical lift pump but before the fuel filter and replace it with a new fuel line with the primer bulb in line?
Any extra info would be really appreciated!

    Liam

You know which thread it was that Anderson was talking about the lifters? Thought it was yours, but just skimmed through it and didnt see it. Getting ready to tear into mine, any springy bits to come flying out? Was just going to pull em apart, throw em in some gas, then just soak em in oil dont you?
