Of course my assumption is based on your cousin being honest and that he did NOT remove the sensors to use in his new tires. Not saying he did, but I got burned by a person with little integrity on a 'take-off' tire purchase.
The valve stems are a dead give-away; I did not know this when I purchased, but learned it later.
I think he bought his aftermarket tires and wheels at Discount Tire. I think it would have been cheaper for Discount to install their sensors than to dismount, remove the Ford sensors, and remount and balance the take offs.
My belief is they are there. Try to follow the PITA instructions to 'learn' new TPMS. Do not follow the instructions to 'train' the TPMS after you rotate your tires. It is a different set of steps to 'learn' that involves on-off key sequences and brake pedal pushes.
Give it a shot and report back.
I tried the method with letting air out and with a magnet and neither worked. I ordered the reset device on amazon for $30. So I'll give it a shot on Saturday.

Does anyone know if this is a TPMS or a regular valve stem?
Buy a sports car if you want to go fast, buy a SD if you want to haul. It is getting frigging ridiculous how many users are concerned about how fast they can pull a load over how long the can pull it. Time and time again it has been proven that CAI and exhaust upgrades are a figment of the users imagination. Gears? Well how often do you tow, and how heavy? The only results posted are by users who have paid to get the gear change. At $2400 and one mpg improvement, of course they are going to say it is the cats meow. At an 8 year return on investment, I would lie my fifth point of contact off too! If you want to go fast and impress your friends, buy a Subaru and start vaping. Rant over.
I agree. With the 4.3, I tow our 32 Jayflight just fine. I keep it below 70 mph most of the time. With the crappy roads, the faster you go, the quicker you tear the crap out of the.trailer.

You should have kept reading. I think it tows just fine. I wanted better throttle response when daily driving. It was a dog. Its much better now.
