Much different. No. Different, likely.

" At this time I do not know of any changes to the 2017 truck.
We will need to get our hands on the 2017 to make sure if the current cover will fit, or if we will need to make a new unit for this truck.
Thank you"

Thinking I'm going to go this direction. Looks over built, and the small toolbox is a very nice touch...small can too. Really like my current Retrax, but this looks like a really well done unit.

I know lots of people like the solid top covers but I am old school and will stick with a good fabric cover. I use the full 8 ft enough that I do not want any interference from housings or roller covers. And the sickest thing on the planet is the solid fiberglass trunk lids that look like a half open clam when ever someone hauls any thing ever 3' high. Why even own a truck?

LOL, well said. I pull a gooseneck on a regular basis...no clamming here. Really enjoy the rigid aluminum sliders though.

Retrax making a new cover for 17's

There must be something different. RETRAX is making a completely different cover for the 17's.
Their technical rep told me they will be ready with the new covers in mid September.

Agreed. They told me the same timeframe, but didn't mention a new design? Do you have any more details?

I've also been looking at the American Work Cover Jr. from Truck Covers USA (ready now...they went to an official "measuring session". Looks like it is extremely well built, and along the same lines at the Retrax MX Pro.

No additional details. This the email I got from RETRAX Technical:

The current Retrax covers will not fit the 2017 Super Duty's as they changed the bed style. We will be making cover for the 2017 Super Duty's once they are released and we get the specs from Ford. New covers should be available mid September.

Any updates on bed cover?

I contacted pace Edwards last week and they said they have to do some tweaks and one should be available in next 2 weeks

Retrax dealer said they don't make electric bed covers for long bed - 8ft

Is this true? If it is then the only choice is pace Edwards

Hey AZ. You might want to check the Amazon ratings for the Retrax retractables. Reviews are horrible. Seems like they don't hold up.

Thanks will do. Didn't even cross my mind that Amazon would have covers. Don't know why as they sell everything.

My friend has a Pace Edwards remote bed cover. I am going to get the same. Can't wait to back up to the fiver and drop the auto tailgate and then open the bed cover via remote. Should be slick.
