Interesting conversation with Bak Industries today. They sell their designs to Rev, who releases the covers in the Ford accessory catalogue...the relationship is so close that Bak has a person in the Rev office in Ann Arbor. Ford makes some changes to the covers (all metal hardware, and casings in the latches, glow in the dark pull dongle in case you lock yourself in, as well as an extra inch of rail for the cover to sit on). The BakBox is not compatible due to the wider rail, but the cover is definitely a copy of the MX4 or F1...can't remember and the rollup hard cover is a beefed up version of the Revolver X2. Thought others may find this useful. The plastic hardware on the Bak covers made me nervous...turns out there's an "OEM" alternative.
I contacted Fold-a-Cover regarding when they would release a cover for the 2017 and got this response.
Thank you for contacting Fold-a-Cover.
We are currently in the design and prototype phase for a Fold-a-Cover for the new Ford SuperDuty. At this time, I do not have a firm release date but I can tell you that we are still months away.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
I was hoping that I might still be able to see the gooseneck ball with it folded up on a short bed, since it folds up differently than the bakflip. Not sure I want to wait several months though. We're planning some family trips, and I need to be able to store all the accessories for 2 small children out of the weather.
I wouldn't sweat it too much. Even knowing that you can't see the 5th wheel ball, I think the MX4 is a fantastic cover. One of the best looking and functional covers, IMO. Lot of guys jumping on the Retrax/USA Roll Cover bandwagon, but I'm just turned off by two things:
1) Price. Thats 1.5 sets of tires!
2) How will it age?
If the MX4 degrades in 5-7 years, it will be the finish and waterproofness that takes a hit. But it will still be quiet on the truck. As these roll up covers age...theres is just more moving parts to break and rattle and annoy the heck out of me. The way I see it, the MX4 isn't like a toolbox - it won't last the lifetime of the truck. And for the price, I understand what I'm getting.
I too have been researching retractable covers. I liked that Bak Industries offers a headache rack compatible with their rollback cover, but below is the response I received from them. They actually recommended Retrax to me. After more research/reviews, turns out the RollBack they offer doesn't appear to be as good of quality as Retrax, Pace Edwards or Roll Cover anyway. You get what you pay for though. Still needing to find something compatible with a headache rack though...
Good Afternoon Raymond,
Thank you for reaching out to BAK Industries. Unfortunately, we do not make a Rollbak for that application. We also do not have any plans to make the cover for that truck.. I would recommend checking out Retrax; they may have something similar available.

Message: When will you have a Rollbak tonneau cover designed for the new body style Ford Superduty. My agency has assigned me a new 2017 Ford
F-250 XL crew cab shortbed, and I would like to purchase a Rollbak for it, but it does not show to be available yet.
Man I got that same cover sitting in my garage just waiting for a truck. That thing looks sharp. How well does it work? as good as advertised? How well does it keep out the water? Really hope I can see the gooseneck ball with a long box. Maybe mount a mirror on the tailgate so you can see where to stop.
I was kind of set on another roll up cover like access or truxedo ,just for full bed access, but after thinking about an auxiliary fuel tank right behind the cab, maybe a four panel tonneau might work. How are they opened? Block much rear window?
