Curious who's tunes you were running on the sct. Seems like a huge waste of money and time to just go back stock. There are other guys out there running this setup so i'm sure it can be done. Has to be a tuning issue.
If I didn't change any of the plumbing or the intake plenum, I'm positive it would work just fine. I need a dyno work to dial it in, and I don't have one.
All i was saying was you are not the first guy to do a full piping kit without the throttle body or plastic intake plenum. Not sure if you have more "special" mods but there are guys on powerstrokearmy that have full piping kits on the stock 15 or 16 turbo. I think pip and spartan both have tunes to suport this, no doubt thou you would have to specify it with the actual guy who is making the custom tunes thou (i.e. Pip or spartan) not just the guy loading the tuner for you. I am suprised that the shop is selling the piping kit without tunes to support it thou. Maybe you would have more luck posting this question on that site. Spartan is a sponser there as well as bigrpowr, both are very helpful when it comes to mods on these trucks

No worries at all, we know there's far more detailed mods than what I've done for sure, but for some reason what I have, it isn't working for me. I really need to have the truck on his dyno, he does have tunes working on '15 and newer trucks with the mods I have. I haven't looked at other companies and what they offer, i will poke for q's on the site more detailed in the mods in question for sure. If anything it could give us direction on what to modify in the tune. All good, the insight and help is most appreciated
Mike, I would call Spartan, tell them exactly what you have, and see if they can write a custom tune for it without the truck being there on a dyno. Stranger things have happened. If not, the worse they can say is no and phone calls are cheap...
Hey hoseclamp, used Spartan since early 2012. Had a few miles on it, now about 150k kms. Not even a hiccup! Give Sat a call at Bernhausen Auto down here in Langley, B.C.
All good info, thx guys. Chasing down more info before we start tearing into the truck, someone might have a strategy to make this work. I'm familiar with BA out in Langley for sure Jimmy, bought many mods from them over the years, they didn't want to step forward with a tuner on the newer trucks and seem to be short on parts staff for items I was looking for and were slow getting back to me. I really like the shop I bought my current stuff from, Mitch at AMDP is really dedicated to serving the customer, even when things are strange. Service is key, he delivers. He sells diesel mods and does support them tune wise, my problem is we would probly square this up pretty quick if I could get the truck to him......dyno's leave no secrets, I very much prefer the "artist" to see what the truck is doing and creating before it comes back to me. If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all
hoseclamp - You might give Kory Willis a call over at PPEI. They have recently had some interesting tuning options released for the 6.7s. I have heard nothing but good things so far and I plan on switching over myself.
Talked with a few shops, no insight on why it's doing what it's doing, but they've offered tunes to try out. Not back home until next week, we will see how that goes. Need it drivable by Friday, taking a '52 chev for a 100% restore.
Emissions all back in place, delete didn't work. I'm sure if I did a basic egr block off and delete, it would of worked, but what about the engine braking. Mine was non existent. Truck runs strong as it ever was.

Hate it you couldn't get it figured out. Real bummer.

Sucks, but IMO I needed to be on the dyno to tune it out, the question of engine braking, never considered I'd lose that. No one ever talks of engine braking with a delete. If it was effected and I knew that up front, I wouldn't of deleted unless there was an aftermarket solution avail, and there's isn't any from what I know. Such is life!
Sucks for sure but I have to think it was self inflicted. I would have tried Morgan's tunes that he offered at powerstroke army. I have seen ppl over there with the same mods or more and there trucks run fine. As far as engine braking thou sounds like tyrant diesel has it working stronger than stock. Not sure about the other ones.

Could be, but no one could offer detail on why it was doing what it was, yes there were offers to try tunes, but no understanding or explanation of why mine crapped out with the intake and delete. The most I received was the '15 and newer models have more lag issues with the bigger turbo than '11-14 models. No details on the cure. Secret sauce maybe, but I don't have the time to wait, or time to send my truck down to a dyno to find out. With engine braking, someone might have one working with a delete, but no one can confirm. Ideally, a delete with egr and ccv in tact would work, but who will do it, no one yet. Key word, yet.
