Trying different tuner and tweaking custom tunes, not working. Huge lag on the bottom end, then tire's breaking loose. Not what you want for towing. Anyone with '15 and newer deletes, is the engine brake effected? Tried it today, felt nothing.
With EGR deletes, you loose the exhaust brake. It is tied into the factory EGR system. Only one tuner I've read about is able to keep the function.
That sucks Mike. All that work and so many issues. I know exactly how you feel. All that work at the XLR plant and I've still got the main issue I went there with. Ugh.
Josh, what's the tuner that keeps the brake? Spartan?

They are working on it. Some trucks can retain it, some won't. Sounds crazy, but that is the case. Cale Thompson tuning through an X4 is about the only one with a functioning "press the button" exhaust brake at the moment.
I'll be keeping the BD components, the ccv egr delete I'll arrange to sell. The intake never worked, SCT didn't cure anything so it goes back also. Plus I'm not even in town while the boys tear back into it. I get home and it's all fixed. All is good, golf and a red TTV8 ragtop Benz waiting for me. Life is good
If you have SCT, give Cale a call. He has goon tuning and you could keep the exhaust brake.
Did you ever find out the issue?
Never fixed the turbo lag with new plumbing no, it's bad, then hits like insanity. I'm getting the guys to hook up a trailer and try out the engine brake while I'm gone. I need that more than better mpg and better power.
Curious who's tunes you were running on the sct. Seems like a huge waste of money and time to just go back stock. There are other guys out there running this setup so i'm sure it can be done. Has to be a tuning issue.
Spartan doesn't have this intercooler setup and plenum, no canned tune will make this work, and a few custom by the looks of it also. It needs a dyno IMO. It behaves like it doesn't know what to do unless under heavy boost is being thrown at it. Like it doesn't want to flow until it has no choice. It was stumbling and reverbing with a loose intake coupler, I expected that, but it's also done it with 100% no leaks anywhere. That I didn't expect. It isn't flowing correctly down low on my truck is what that says. Changed MAF also just in case, no difference. The designer has this system on other truck, but I don't know what is the difference, where it works on the others and not mine. We try a few things next week. Maybe go to a basic delete setup, stock tubing and intake, I believe it would work then, but will I have engine braking.

I guarantee Matt at Spartan could tune it out if it's tuning related. What setup do you have?
