Hey guys good morning, I'm in desperate need of some suggestions here. I have a 2004 6.0 and I seem to have lost ignition. I'm stranded in a parking lot with the hot sun rising fast. Ok so I'm backing out of a parking spot and she just dies on me. Checked all fuses twice. Half a tank of fuel, it seems to have lost ignition. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
When cranking....should I be reading oil pressure?
No, you should not see any oil pressure until after start. It delays pressure reading after start about 1 second (if your talking about the dummy gauge).
When you say "it seems to have lost ignition", does that mean the engine is turning over, and just not firing. That what that means to me..... Some people describes things differently. Just want to clarify.....
No I do not. Well I'm still here in the parking lot. I believe to have found an issue. I removed the oil filter housing cap and filter and cranked to check for oil entry. I have none it's bone dry in there. So my question now is, may this be a sending unit or do you think I need a pump?
378,000 miles so from my understanding there is really no lower pump...it is gears on the crank and grooves in the cover that supply oil to the cylinders??? Is this correct? And if I have no oil in or coming to my filter housing do the grooves also supply this? Or does the sending unit help with this? Regulator?
