I had a stand pipe come apart too, the small oring that holds the 2 pieces together had failed. Caused hard start like you'd think it would.

Actually the only way I could get the bottom of it out was to take the good one apart with the good oring, and reinstall it on the other side to grab the bottom with. That was a prayerful moment.. and now I'm just rambling on.

Interested to see how this turns out.

I made a tool for that. Ford wants somewhere around $200 for the stupid thing.
It can be made for under $10 in parts.

Here is the Ford tool.

And here is my home brewed tool.

It works really well. I did not have any aluminum tubing so I just used 2 rivnuts
as spacers. I wanted aluminum to reduce the risk of any nicks to sealing surfaces.

Customer decided hes not going to repair the truck, so I have no further answers as to how far or where the crack in the cup area actually is.

Oh well, move on to the next 1.

Interesting. How does that work? I'm guessing somehow compression expands the rubber to grab?

BINGO. You get you choice of prizes and they are
"The Invisible Big Pink Elephant or The Invisible BIGGER Pink Elephant"

The way it works is you stuff the rubber into the top of the stuck section of the stand pipe and turn the **** to
expand the rubber out to grab the inside walls and pull. Sometimes you get it first try and others you do it again
with a little wiggling as you pull. It will come out.
