Hey everybody, just checking in and letting you all know we made it back home. The truck did fine. There are some new vibrations that weren't there before, obviously.
I'll start getting estimates this Monday, and start trying to get a hold of the property owner, and their insurance company.
I can't even guess how many people have said it's gonna be totaled. But that number is better than a dozen, and with the way that the Firewall is bent too, it may just happen.
biggest problem with the insurance is if the PO was told the tree needed to come down prior to that storm.. Insurance likes to classify it as an "act of god" and doesnt typically pay out for it as "gods acts" is not covered in the policys.. If the PO was told then you can have some legal recourse against him and get the money due to neglect..
Glad you made it back. Hope everything goes alright with the insurance.
Thanks Tony, and so do I. I really think we'll do alright with their insurance company taking care of the truck. If not, then mine will, then they'll go after that property owner.
I'm heading out Monday morning to get a few estimates. I really think there's a decent shot that they may total the truck since most every body panel has damage, and the entire front of the truck will have to be replaced, and that the Firewall is bent too.
I'll get more pictures up after/when I figure out how to do that.
Good morning everybody
Gonna spend the day in the yard today. It hasn't been cut or trimmed since we left about 2.5 weeks ago. And I need to get to Home Depot and get some more stuff to prop up my tomato plants. Looks like the rest of the week is gonna be wet, so today is the day.
Heck with that,
Hey Bob, Call Ford and tell them your story. I am telling you what brother, If there is a better Built Ford Tough commercial than your trucks', I ain't seen one. Got crushed by a tree in a horrible summer storm, and safely traveled (how many miles?) loaded with gear and a lot of bragging rights, made it home without any mechanical failures. Built Ford Tough. Sell that **** to Ford brother.

THATS, a GREAT Idea!
I have emailed Ford, and also put a couple of pictures, and story on the Ford Forever Facebook page.
And it was 2 tree's! And 256 miles home, with no issues.
Here's my dearly beloved F150
The tree's landed on the right front side of the truck. I noticed this afternoon, that the right rear, wheel well is about 1" lower the the left rear wheel well.
