June Chat Thread

Wow didn't realize it was June till 5 minutes ago. Rebuild kit and brass float came in for the boat today. Nothing exciting going on as the rain is on and off. Don't have to water the grass or add water to the pool so it's all fine with me.

Might have a lead on a dealership tech job a lot closer to the house.
Boat registration stickers came in and the AC quit working on the daughters mustang, why can't I ever catch a break with that dang car ?? Finally got around to cleaning up my workshop today and I am glad that I am not tripping over stuff anymore. I have the boat carb soaking and I might try to rebuild it tonight.

Good luck with that carb Chief.

For the first time in my adult life, took the day off for my Birthday. Nothing fancy, two trips to the trash transfer station, one from my house, second for the mother in law. A little bit of organizing the father in laws shop to get an inventory of what he had. Changed out the garage door opener for the youngest daughter so maybe when the next grand daughter comes along next month she won't be scared to death when the door opens.

Tomorrow, will try to get the last coat of primer on the bed so I can do the last sanding before painting the truck. I hope I can at least get that done. Who knows, I may sleep all day, getting older just doesn't always agree with me, but it beats the alternative.

Have a great weekend guys.

Thanks Bob,
My buddy down the road broke the screw head off the choke assy on the intake so I am going to try and get that out. Pulling the plugs to see how bad they look then work on the carb later on today. I have been keeping and eye on the radar and the storms are starting to fire up all over Georgia.

Checked the AC on the daughters mustang, full of 134 but the compressor wasn't coming on. I just touched the electrical connector and it started cycling again so I cleaned the connector, YEA!!! finally caught a break for once!!! Now I have to get a wiper motor as it keeps blowing the fuse.

The carb rebuild was kicking my butt so I went on you-tube and watched a video on marine quadrajet rebuild. The guy on the video was having the same issues as I was. Finally got it back together and on the boat before the rain came down. Runs great when cold but I get it hot it really runs bad. Rain is on the way so I will mess with it later.

Last week the jumping Jag hood thingy just fell off my car in in the yard. They are held on by lacing wire so I got that put back on today too. Trying to get the 20 different to do things completed.

Back from the trip. we had a great time except Key West, we we got home that was another story.

we were on Royal Caribbean. Miami, Nassau, Coco Cay, Key West, Miami. 1300 land miles.

Nassau we did a private island resort day trip. Coco Cay is Royal's private island. both days laying in the sun ,playing in the water, eating and attempted snorkeling ( we both kept getting mouthfuls of water. Key West was HOT. We did the hour long trolley tour the I had to go back to the boat for the rest of the day.

Miami we did the city and bay tour.

Yesterday we did a swim with the Manatees tour.

Will not discuss the house when we got home still pissed and blood pressure still high.

Next cruise OCT 2017 Ft Lauderdale, Jamaica, Haiti

Chief
sorry the carb thing did not work. There is a campground on NAS Key West. Once we get the trailer we are planning on doing about a 2 week trip back to south FL.

Alex
great news on the engine

Bob

Happy belated birthday

Jacob

glad you are making progress and at least took one day off

I have been dropping applications like crazy over the past 2 weeks, I usually get the automated email response and do not here anything else back. Thursday last week I got a call but they were hiring for a place in Snellville, too far of a commute for me.

Yesterday I applied to a National automotive/ tire business that is opening a new store in Rome. They are hiring several positions, tire changer, green auto mechanic and master techs. After dropping my app I got the dreaded auto email and figured that was probably the end like the rest.

Low and behold I got a call first thing this morning from the HR department and I have an interview scheduled for a master tech position for this Friday at 10!!

Oil change and spark plugs, and filter service at work, threw my bumpers on too. I made the headlights, signals, lower bumper, and grille.

That looks fantastic !
A few weeks ago I ordered a Disney World vacation DVD, mainly to bug the wife but the little man loves to watch it. I had little man in my lap and my wife and daughter watching it behind me.

They don't want to admit it but after watching the DVD they are excited about going in a year or two.
