My friggen a/c quit yesterday so now I be scrambling around. Unfortunatly all my a/c amigos are retired now or moved away. Not to worry though as it`s only going to be 100*
I did send out a telegraph or two so there is hope
Hank, Yeah, I was in that trap a few years back. The repayment is so high, you end up having to get another loan to make it to the following payday. I put out the word on one of those websites where people donate to your cause. Maybe I can get enough to stay away from that revolving door payday loan.
Happy thirsty Thursday Nor Cal. Hope everyone can stay cool.
According to the weather guessers today is going to be the coolest day of the next ten, at 99 degrees, with Wednesday of next week hitting 109... I think it is time to move to Alaska.
Well, we will see what happens today. Randy was transported to LA County jail yesterday, and has court today, so I am guessing sometime this afternoon or evening he will let Hannah know the outcome.
Bed bug spraying was yesterday, so now my apartment looks like a trash bag storage unit. LOL Going to keep as much stuff in the bags as possible as the pest control people will be back in 20 days to do another spraying "just to be safe", they said. Works for me. I don't mind packing up anything I unpack today in order to make sure those **** bugs are gone for good.
It is too early to tell, but I have not seen any bed bugs today (live ones anyway, have seen some dead ones ), nor have I seen any roaches. After we were allowed to come back in, the kids and I started putting things back, and we put those plastic mattress and box spring covers on. The one I bought at Walmart is thicker plastic then the one I got at shopbedding.com, and it has two layers of protection, a zipper, and a Velcro flap the covers the zipper.
The pest control company will buy what they call a "bed bug encasement" Which they claim is bed bug proof, not just bed bug blocker like the packaging states on the Walmart product. She told me to return the two products and get my money back. As the one from shopbedding.com doesn't state on the package that it is for bed bugs. Only that it is water proof. In any case, since I don't have the receipts, and I want something to protect me now, I put them both on with some help from the kids.
The encasements are going to cost $55.00 which is a little less than what I paid for both the covers I have now. Again, I don't mind spending the extra money as I want to make sure these critters never bother me again.
Looks like my bed bug problem is over. Haven't seen any, or been bitten by one since they sprayed on Wednesday! Needless to say, I am a happy camper. My VA social worker stopped by yesterday and said he will try to get me a queen size bed to replace the full size one I have. Someone donated 20 queen size beds to AmVets, and he will try to secure one for me. And due to my lack of funds, he said he can help with food too. So, things are looking up!
Also got fitted for a manual wheelchair at the VA on Wednesday during the 4 hours I had to stay away from the apartment. It should be here in three weeks. Can't wait to get that so I can go more places with a wheelchair. It will fit in the trunk so I can go to parks, (or Lost Lake) and not have to stay home because I can't get my powered wheelchair to the place I want to go.
Good to hear on the bug issue. I got a tiny taste of that; we went back to Michigan for some family stuff, and the last night I was there I got attacked by "something", and I have about 30 welts on each leg, and maybe 10 on each arm. Don't know what they were, but the welts aren't going down.
