Hello all, June is here, so let's get some beer. LOL. Year is almost half over already. Where does the time go?

We dodged another bullet. The on-shore flow started to kick in right around 12:30, and the temp went up and down depending on the strength of the breeze. I really don't like the hot weather.

Around 3pm the DJ reported 99 here, however, our hottest time of the day is between 4-6pm so I am very confident we went over 100. Summer is still weeks away, and yet, we are already over 100. I hope this doesn't mean our summer is going to be especially hot. I would have to turn into an apartment hermit with the AC on all day. That is going to suck when my next PG&E bill gets here.

Threw out the recliner, and wooden base I made for it (to get it higher off the ground to make it easier for me to get out of.) And I vacuumed up most of the dead insects on/in the carpet in the area. Will borrow my friend's vacuum cleaner tomorrow and finish the job, since mine is a cheap $20 unit from Walmart. I am now in need of a recliner so I can sleep at night, but more importantly I pray that takes care of the flea problem, (or whatever bugs they were).

Can you get a picture of one of the little buggers Jim? Im an amateur entomologist up here. I may be able to tell you what they are.

For the recliner have you considered craigslist? I know it's always a gamble but I've gotten some really nice furniture that way.

We were hot up here this morning and some cloud cover came in to save us. Probably got up to about 90* and hung there.

I have not had any problems getting furniture off CL in the past, however, to be honest, the only piece of furniture I did buy from CL was a recliner. LOL

I loved the recliner I just drug out of here. Cost me $440 brand new in 2013. However, I honestly think I would have never eradicated the bugs from it.

My camera is at a friend's house, but I will get it back tomorrow. I don't know if there are any dead bugs in the carpet, but if so, I'll try to get a pic.

Even as I typed that last message, my tablet was reporting 99, and that was at 7pm. So I know it made it over 100, but don't know how far it went. I heard today and tomorrow are supposed to be 105, but again, I can't confirm it made it.

Just checked the 10 day forecast, and now it says tomorrow will be 104 and Friday 105 with Saturday getting the 108 temp. Earlier this week, Friday was marked as the day to get 108.

Saturday we're looking at 104 here.

Went with dad to his Dr appointment today. Finally have a diagnosis. It is MS so he goes on immunodepressants next month for the next 6 years... He hasn't had another attack since the first one 8 months ago so hopefully that's all that comes of it...

Well wishes Rick with pops.
Jim, how did the bugs get there in the first place? Find the source so they wont invade new chair when you get one.

and yes it`s getting a lil warm in Livermore, could always move near BP I suppose

I don't know how the bugs got here. I have never had a pet in this apartment the entire time I lived here. My next door neighbor has two dogs, but she claims they are flea free.

I have found some good candidates for replacement on CL, and two of them are the kind that lift up and tip forward to help me get up. Of course they are more expensive, but at $300 still doable with my next SSDI check. Just would have to scrimp on other things for a month. I am going to keep vacuuming the apartment on a daily basis to get rid of any eggs that were laid. I slept, or tried to sleep is more accurate, in the bed last night, and this morning, had no bites. I checked the carpet area where the recliner was, and no live bugs were found. I don't want to jump the gun and say the problem is gone, but it is beginning to look that way. However, as stated above, I will keep vacuuming, and will get another can of Raid just in case.

I tended to use an extra fogger in my place. We got hit every summer once. The fogger gives the square footage that they'll cover but I usually went a little overboard and stayed out of the house longer.

I think the fogger I used in the living room wasn't enough. Maybe I should have used two, and one in the bedroom with the sofa, since it is the only bedroom of the two to have bugs in it. Saw a bug just a few minutes ago and killed it. Will take a pic of it when I get my camera back today.
