I hear you, I have not been willing to do much of anything outside due to the heat, and today it is predicted to be 105 However, I will be going out around 11am to get a free lunch at Carl's Jr. I complained to their corporate website about a location here that did not honor the veteran discount, and the very next day I got a call from the manager of that location offering me a free lunch. So, I will brave the heat for that. Thankfully, the AC works fine in the Thunderbird.

Any thought of getting some goats? I'm considering it for the new house. I've heard "fixed" male Boer goats are good.

We have talked seriously about doing that. The only issue is WHERE do we keep the goats when they're not munching? We live in Mountain Lion territory, and any untended goats would very shortly end up as kitty dinner. Perhaps I would need to build a barn? Oh jeeze; yet another project...

I've got some friends that raise boer goats. They seem to really like them.

Hot up here again too. 95ish.

I was in Corvallis last weekend for a wedding. Head to Santa Barbara next monday for another... Busy busy.

I finally got my 4runner back. They changed the master cylinder, skid actuator, and hydroboost pump. Over $2000 just in parts... darn toyotas!

I hear ya. I'll be in the same Santa Cruz Mtn range, just South East of you. My plan would be to make a pen that is fully enclosed, even over the top with a welded mesh type fencing material. The place I'm moving into has a chicken pen like that and they haven't had any problems. They used to have goats in there.

Example of welded mesh fencing.

Happy thirsty Thursday Nor Cal. Hope everyone can stay cool.

Know nothing about goats. Except what they look like.

Not yet. But since title transferred on my current house to it's new owners today, I'd better get out soon!

I should be all moved in middle to late next week. We'll get something planned for this summer for sure. Not nearly as much flat property as before though.
