I am changing both harnesses as they leak and are original to truck, Its a 05. I just am wondering if I have a broken boot can I just yank the boot out with the wire? There is no lip left to try using 18Ga wire and rocking it out as I did the others.
Thanks everyone.

I had a similar experience. I think if the engine is hot they come out easier. I have the tool but I broke the lip trying to get one out cold. After it had run for a while I took a medium size flat head screw driver and put pressure on the rest of the plastic while prying up. It eventually popped out.
I broke a full set of them the last time I worked on the glow plugs.
Ended up using a set of needle nose pliers to grip the wire and wiggle.
Also depending on how far in you are you can just use the flat blade
screwdriver and pop it out from the inside of the rocker box id the valve
cover is off.
Can't find them right now but I have some photos from the inside of the
rocker box showing the glow plug top with the boot in place. If I fine them
I will post the photos.
Thanks for the answers, After soaking the grommets over night with BP blaster I went out and with a pull on the wire the grommets popped right out, I am so happy because I just put New Injectors in and was in the process of putting everything back, I know I should have done the harness when the injectors were out but I really did not think about it. Just glad I did not have to buy all new injector install kits and standpipes and dummy plugs and do the work over again......
