looking for schrader replacement options

so i have a fender mounted racor.
without a schrader valve.
which you pretty much need.

i am trying to find a different type of valve
that will evac the unwanted air in the filter head.
and will let me redirect the air and fuel away from the engine.
with a separate plunger that does not obstruct the evac process..

anyone have any ideas?

I don't know why you need a 'separate plunger'(?). To pump up the fuel pressure in the filter?

I think Racor makes check valves for fuel lines - you probably knew that.

Anyway, this one would be very neat if you could adapt one end to be threaded. It's a stainless steel air relief valve used on blood pressure monitors. Ideal to connect a rubber fuel line to direct air and fuel to wherever you want it to go. Not sure what kind of seal or seat it has inside and if it would be resistant to diesel fuel, or if any rubber inside can be changed. Probably have to contact this company to confirm what seal is used inside.

Here is a simple air relief valve, already threaded but at 1/4 inch it's probably too big. Looks like you can change the seat which is probably like a water faucet washer. You could probably find a smaller one like this:
Celcon Air Relief Valve (1/4") - Super Pool Parts

When I look for parts or components to use for a specific application I do an Image Search. I key in the search term in a search engine and then click on "Images" in the search engine. Then I can go through thousands of images of parts and components in just minutes until I see what I am looking for. This is a LOT faster. I just used "air relief valve" for a search term.

Using google I think you have to execute the web search first and then click on "Images" up at the top. I mostly use privacy (anonymous) search engines like "Start Page" which gives results from various search engines including from google search engine. Sometimes google gives a more direct result though.

We service 100's of fuel tanks annually and doing so we do an inspection of the fuel systems. Do this we never come across such a poorly designed fuel system as these IDI. The schrader valve is simply one more thing to go wrong.

Except that the OP /wants/ a schrader valve on his aftermarket filter.

That being said, I don't see the problem. I think it's a pretty good design, to be honest - easy to bleed, and you can always replace the core with an extremely cheap off-the-shelf part.

You don't want a schrader valve before the fuel pump- They don't seal vacuum. Even with a cap, it has the potential to be an air intrusion point. All that valve is for is testing fuel pressure.
What you need is a pressure regulator valve and bleeder, like what the stock filter head has, but you need fuel pressure to make that work, so either the Racor needs to be after the lift pump, or you need an electric pump on the frame. If you have an electric pump, then a 1/16" orifice outlet with a hose to a tee on the return line would work well to allow excess fuel and any air to go into the return line.

How about this installed at the highest point after the e-pump?

the stock schrader valve is one of the last things to go wrong.
usually its the early style WFS, and in the later style its the damn fuel heater.

the problem is that the schrader valve is designed to spit fuel everywhere.
ive spent alot of time and cash getting my engine and engine compartment
to look pretty slick, and i dont want to spit fuel everywhere.

im running a holley black fuel pump on the frame rail by the tank
with an external regulator to feed the filter.
i want a external valve, so i can control the direction of the air/fuel coming out of it.

odds are i dont really need this with a hot fuel system pre IP
but it would be nice to have.

Couldnt you just run a simple McMaster "T" valve that is rated for fuel? Then when you are ready to purge the air, you could attach a temporary drain hose to the "*****" end so that it can drain nicely to the ground and help plants get their electrolytes?

Something like this, but with brass.
