Possible fuel pump driver module failure

Hi guys as you can see by my signature, I've got a 2006 with the 4.2 motor. Lately it's been acting up where if I try to start it while the engine is still nice and warm, it won't restart until it has sat for a while and everything has had a chance to cool off. I've been told it could be the fuel pump driver module, and I know from reading some of the other threads on here, those tend to get a lot of corrosion on them because of where Ford mounted it (in their infinite wisdom). I know mine has some corrosion on it from inspecting it last fall. But it didn't look too bad. I'm just going to replace it this weekend anyway. But do you think this is it or do you think it sounds like it could be something else? My first thought was a bad ground going to the starter. I'll get all the other accessories, but it won't start. By the way, I do have a 5-speed with 2wd. The starter is less than a year old; the clutch is just about a year.
This site has been a wealth of knowledge in helping me to keep my truck going, thanks everyone!

are you saying the starter will not crank, or the motor will not fire off when it is warm ? I would say this is not related to your fuel module, but still a good idea to change if truck is 10 years old and you live in PA.

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. The starter is not engaging. It's acting like the starter isn't even there. Are thinking this is a starter issue?

IF it only happens when hot, then I would assume it is not a cable , ground , battery problem.. Sure sounds like the starter. You could check voltage on the cable to the starter when hot , just to make sure ........ but I don't see what would open up and not give power when hot, but work fine when motor is cool.

Update: The truck is at the shop today, and it turns out to be a PCM issue. It needs to go to a Ford dealer for that so I'll have AAA take it down there tomorrow. I don't think the PCM needs replaced, from what my service manager at my local shop was telling me, it needs to be re-scanned. I'll try to get more details tomorrow or Monday.

will be interesting to see what they say.......... as a side comment, I had a 1996 Explorer that did the same think.. Ran when cold, would not start when hot. I had a "coolant temp" code at the same time that I did not address... wanted to fix the start problem first....... ended up that the "coolant temp" sensor was broken and sending a VERY WRONG signal when the motor was hot... I think it advanced the timing so much that the truck would not start........ changed the sensor and no more problems.

Not your problem, but just shows that some "inputs" or "values" in the computer can screw up the running / starting . REBOOT sure cant hurt !

Thanks for the input as that was my next question for either service manager, the guy at the local garage that I go to, or the one at the Ford dealer where my truck is headed to tomorrow. What causes a PCM to go bad? Is it something I did inadvertently, is there anything I can do to prevent it? Will it happen again? I'm going to type that into a search engine and see what it comes up with. The backyard mechanic/wannabe engineer in me is trying to wrap my brain around this... How do those inputs or values get screwed up in the first place?
