folding mirror problem 2011

My folding mirror on the drivers side folds out good but when bringing it back there is a clicking sound and it doesn't move, a slight pull on it and it comes back ok. 2011 F350 SD. Does any one have any suggestions. thanks.:

Have you tried to reset them? I think it's in the manual

I thought about that but it appeared to me that he was already doing the sync and it didn't work.

Maybe not?

If the resync does not work, it could be a bad gear inside. Happened to my old truck. Glad it was under warranty, they are a little pricey. Good luck!

Yep. Might be the grear stripped out. In the 4 years I had my 2011, I had both mirrors replaced under warranty on year 3 and 4. If your trucks under warranty then you're all good (so long as there isn't the slightest hint of damage on the housing). The dealership is required by Ford to take 4-6 pictures of the mirror at various angles to inspect for damage before authorizing a warranty claim. If it's NOT in warranty, then you should google search Autonation Ford Parts and look up the replacement there. It's about $800 which is about $800 LESS than buying it from Ford. Order the part and do it yourself.

Here is a video I made years ago
