Warn 8274 Winch Mount Ideas?
So, I have a 1977 Ford F150 that I want to mount it to. However, I like the clean look of my factory bumper, etc. I'm kinda looking for ideas for keeping it clean. I have welders, plasma cutter, etc. and it would be most fun to fabricate something.
I also have to figure out a clean way to wire it up, but I'm not as worried about that. We have a great place in Nashville that makes cheap wiring harnesses like this. I'll probably install in-cab and a 4-way remote so I can control it from either. I also don't like to disturb my factory look on the dash.
Thanks for your ideas.
Wire it with quick disconnects, that way you can winch from either end of the truck, and as long as you have a receiver drop hitch on the tail end of your rig? I can also put that winch on my trailer, and I have power q/d jumper like cable on the other end so even a buddy can use it on his truck.
I am building rock sliders on the bronco that will have a receiver tube in the middle, so I can side winch.
And I have now cut off the vertical mount receiver tube piece hanging down.Warn 8274 rebuild

I used to have a compact tractor that had a front mount using pins a slot that acted as a hinge, and spring pins locked it from rotating. It was used to mount a snow plow. That got me to thinking maybe a snow plow-like attachment setup would keep me from having to mod my bumper? I live in the south so I don't have any plows to look at. I'll keep chewing on it.
Thanks again.
