Good idea but I have a 1995 400 hp AWD Eagle Talon TSI for my hot rodding needs. My goal for the V10 Excursion was just to make up for the 8000 ft of elevation HP loss.

I don't hot rod it. But to get it tuned right a WOT pull was required. It will probably never see WOT again unless I have to pass someone in a hurry and I typically will not even try to pass in a situation where WOT is required.

So it pulls me up the mountain to my house and pulls my boat to the lake.....oh and my 5 kids. 2 of which are twins too. It's babied .

WM system will come on and it will see boost, everytime I drive it up the mountain....just no 5000 rpm WOT pulls.

Bought mine brand new off show room floor in 1996.

Only has 107,000 miles on it, small 16G turbo, forged pistons and rods, ecu tuner, ARP head bolts, and 255 fuel pump and 650 cc injectors.

I could haul it in the back of my excursion if I tried really hard

I haven't bought anything new, ever... Haven't had the funds yet. I do prefer the older stuff, I like being arable to diagnose without a super duper specialty scanner for the most part.

An Excursion and a Chevelle makes me happy. Less so now that the truck kills the Chevelle, but that will change.

Nice!

Post some WOT vids lol. Seriously though thats exciting. And you have PLENTY of room in the truck to haul a big jug of water/meth around.

6 gallon jug in rear bolted to floor.
Local fuel distrubitor sells methanol for $3.15/gallon
Walmart sells distilled water for $0.88/gallon

At 60/40 it costs me $1.79/gallon for my water meth mix.

This winter with 10 degree water meth solution, should be intresting.

Looks like I'm back to looking for one! That one on eBay might be worth looking at I guess...

FYI

My kit cost me $2000 90% complete.
$500 for injectors
$700 for tuner and tunes
$200 for misc items like intake gasket, hoses etc
$150 for fuel pump
$150 for WBO2 kit for tuning
Got a install manual free from a good guy on here

Total $3700

Add the water meth and I have $4500ish in it.
Plus labor.
Labor is not bad couple days, I just had alot of other issues to resolve with motor so it seems to me like a lot.

The ebay kit I posted seems a tad pricey.

The missing alternator pulley is a big deal. Kit requires a double alternator pulley to drive SC. Could be $200 to $500 to have one made and KB don't have any.

I would be a player for that kit for about $2k, no more. Rebuild would cost $1000 if it's worn out. 2k is max top I would pay and that is pushing it.

If I had to do it all over again I would go twin turbo. Buy a good exhaust bender and a couple small 16G MHI turbochargers, a dual inlet intercooler, dual MAF converter and be set. Probably for around $2k-$3k installed.

The only draw back for turbos is they presureize the entire intake. So brake booster, and all vacuum lines need to have check valves, except the fuel pressure regulator. The SC'er has vacuum only on rear and that is a enormous help. Vacuum and boost on discharge side.

Or I can wait for you to decide you would rather have twins on both of yours and get your set-up Think about it, I drive out there for a few days, we toss it on there... could be fun! You know you want to

Jon, just throw a single 102 on there. You'll be fine.

Don't tempt me.....I just got it running like a striped A$$'ed Ape.

I think 102 refers to a 4 inch turbo. Too big for low rpm boost but will blow the doors off above 3000 rpm.

Do you have info on the dual MAF translator? I'm working on a 557 cu in, 385 series big block that's NA with dual MAFs. That is exactly what I'm considering.
Thanks - Bob

Cool, 557 CID

I have a one too....not a 557 as only bored .040 instead of .080". Aluminum cobra jet heads and 11.5:1 compression. Great motors.

Here is what I was looking at.

Update:

16 gph injection rate is good for a non heat soaked supercharger.

Once blower gets hot, say after 20 minutes driving, 16 gph is not enough.

Had to modify system to 26 gph to cool everything down. That darn 2.2L blower sure gets hot and it takes alot of water methanol to cool it down.
