Emailed Don Lasota today and he responded back saying that the lightning maf is a direct plug in

Quoting Don Lasota "Keep the Boost a Pump, install it after the FPDM without a boost switch on 100% power all the time. The lightning MAF should plug right in to your existing MAF plug, just make sure you use 4” tubing to the DC."

I'm assuming it was a typo "DC" is supposed to be "SC".

I'm not going to argue with Don on this I will just give my opinion.

the BAP does work and will increase voltage to pump. 18VDC I believe. My only issue is adding a potential failure point in the system. Less parts are better in my opinion. I "feel" a properly sized fuel pump and injectors are a better solution.

The lighting MAF has no internal air temp sensor, so you have to cut the two air temp wires that go to your maf and run wires to the external lightning temp sensor, you will instal after blower.

The boost-a-pump never seemed right to me either to be honest. Increase the voltage to make it flow more fuel, seeMs it would be harder on the stock pump and im not much for chopping up the factory wiring. Just have to figure out what size pump to buy.

Would a 250 lph work, too much for the factory fuel pressure regulator? Maybe buy an adjustable fpr?

I'll have to research the maf, again don't want to chop up the factory wiring.

My 185 LPH pump does not over run the fpr.
It probably sees 13 to 14 vdc so it pumps over 200 LPH in my estimation.

450 hp needs about 211 lph fuel, so a 185 would be boarderline.

if you add methanol your fuel pump can be a tad smaller than calculated.

I have no issues with my 185 lph.....but I need 20% less than you because of elevation. My 185 lph is approximately equal to a 222 lph at your elevation. Add the extra volt or two to my pump and I probably have a 255 equivilant pump.

so you have to decide, all I can say is what I have.

you would have to chop up fuel supply and return lines to get an adjustable fpr to work.

I'm having a hard time finding a 90mm 6 pin maf, maybe I'll have to get a a separate IAT sensor

To my knowledge there are none.

The 90 mm MAFs do not have IAT sensors. The 90 mm came on Lightnings and the SC required external IAT sensors before and after SC.

You néed 1 Lightning IAT sensor and 1 90 mm MAF.

The 90 mm maf plugs into the excursion maf harness. 2 slots are just blank or no wires in them.

Just curious are you running the factory plugs with the blower?
