Forgive my ignorance....

I see a tremendous amount of work by some of you guys on all the PIDs. What is the benefit of using a "custom" PID vs the PIDs that come packaged with Torque in the specific for Ford (Powerstroke) add on?

My other question is, I have been using Torque app in my 98 Jeep for a few years. In my truck i have the X-monitor...which seems to be on the fritz. So I figured I would start using the Torque app in the truck. I am using my retired Galaxy S4 phone. I set up a second vehicle profile for the truck. However when I go to the gauge display screen and delete and add gauges it seems to alter the appearance for both vehicle profiles. Does anyone run two vehicles in one phone or tablet? Tugly, it looks like you do your prius and superduty. Any tips or directions as to what I need to do.

TIA

It seems every thread I end up in has long been dead. But rather than create a whole new thread to ask a question, I'm just gonna necro here. Is there a way to monitor Injector Duty Cycle in Torque Pro at all? I found a custom PID somewhere that reads off another PID but it doesn't work. Also, the OBDII bluetooth adapter OP recommended, OBDLink MX, it seems there was an update that broke the device. Is that still the case? Has the issue been fixed? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what you're looking for here. Injector duty cycle (is that Dodge or GM term?) is another way of describing Fuel Injection Pulse Width (FIPW). Are you just looking for FIPW to be expressed in percent? Duty cycle being the general term for describing how long, in time or percentage of time, a system is on. So in this case, I believe the maximum FIPW is 6ms for our engines, you can create your own PID with FIPW divided by 6ms and multiplied by 100, giving a value in percent. But it doesn't truly give a real indication of the amount of fuel being injected, as that's also a function of the HPO pressure.
