Got my 8" Galaxy Tab A a few days ago, my Akron mount, and OBDLink MX today.
Got the mount installed ok but am having fits with Torque. I guess the biggest issue I'm having is that almost none of the predefined PID's I wanted (trans temp, boost, etc) show up as green in the list. It was my understanding that these new standard PID's do what the old custom ones did. When I did finally try to start my Ex the first time it wouldn't even turn over. Another time it just shut off after a couple minutes. When I did get things running, I was getting no data for any of my gauges, except trans temp that was at -40. I've read through the whole Torque FAQ but I'm stumped.
This all sounds like you have a long list of PIDs loaded, and none were tested before applying them. When the vehicle misbehaves, it's best to start over and test each PID KOEO before adding it to your gauge set. I should also point out that our antiquated electronics weird out if we have too many gauges. I have about 12 or 13, and that seems to be the limit.

as far as I know EOT/trans temp will usually always return a negative value or zero value
All setups and moving PIDs around have to be done KOEO, You start moving things around when the motors running, It's gonna kill it every time, and TP won't stop your motor from cranking, not that I've ever seen. EOT and Trans temp has always started up in the positives, at least for me. You always have to make sure your Dongle locks up with the PCM before you turn the key.....At least in my experience......
How do you enter multiple PIDs with the same PID long name because Torque Pro won't accept it? The 3 titled Exhaust Back Pressure are giving me problems
You can't. You can enter only one PID with the same long name and PID number. The three I have on my list are options to choose one from - I use the Turbo Pressure Delta with my boost gauge... all the info I need.

Hey Tugly one other question if I can please? The only PIDs I can't get working properly now are the Boost and TPD - they keep coming back no data. I've double checked the equations and PID details - any ideas?
With just one instance of the long name PID loaded, you can't get a boost reading? Maybe there's an issue with BARO. Can you load MAP, BARO, and Exhaust Back Pressure without the customization, then do a Key On Engine Off with Torque reading the engine? They should all read the same.

I'm sure it's something I'm doing! Below is the picture of the PIDs I have written from the FAQ. The other standard Ford PIDs are there and I can scroll up, select and edit them.
Barometer works - seems to be the only manual PID that does for me, any of the others won't play. If I use the ford ones, they seem to be all good.
I believe the issue may be the Boost long name with PID #221440. The long name that goes with that PID# needs to be Manifold Absolute Pressure, then you can give it any short name that fits.
I posted this over in my Excursion maintenance/mod thread. I figured it would get a bit more visibility here.
Over a month ago I tried to set up Torque Pro on an android device. It was less than successful. I didn't play around with it again until this evening. After deleting all the pre-loaded PID's, I picked some of the "standard" PID's available for the 7.3 PSD. They worked this time. I used the TFT, Boost, EOT, GPS Speed, and Battery Voltage PID's that were already on Torque Pro.
Big question is what formulas did they use? I have no idea if the Boost is accurate, and there were two options on Transmission Fluid Temperature to choose from.
I took a nice little 30 minute test drive at 60-65mph. With 80* outside air temp my transmission never got above 140*, my engine oil hit 201*, and my Boost got up to about 16-17psi at WOT. I don't know how those numbers compare to others?
I went with the longer version of the Arkon iPhone 7 holder. It bolted right under the seat mount bolt and fit my 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab A perfectly.
