I'm an OHV Park Ranger for BLM in Springfield, at least for now. I've been working in this position off and on for 3 years. Things will likely be changing in the next few months, though.
Belated good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Been out on the field chopper this morning. Time for breakfast more coffee and then head to town to check on the Eastern Front.
Good morning everyone. Unfortunately I am working today and Monday. The joys of working in recreation...
When working in the Recreation Industry or Public Safety, there is no such thing as "Holidays". Just days that generate more paperwork than "normal" days....
I changed the oil/filter and fuel filters on my 6.0 yesterday. The oil change was actually quite easy compared to almost every other vehicle I've had. The fuel filter change was not so fun. It has the primary filter in a canister on the frame rail which turned out to be messy as hell to drain/replace, and it has a smaller secondary filter on top of the motor.
It probably filters better than the single filter that my old 7.3 had, but it sure made a mess.

In a few months when my wife's maternity leave is up I'm planning to switch to part time work, or even just stay at home for a while with the kids. My wife makes more than twice what I do, and she only works 14 days a month, so it makes more sense for her to stay full time.
Between child care being so expensive and both of use leaving for work early and getting home late it makes more sense for one of us to stay home or go part time instead of sacrificing time with the boys.

I started out with a lazy morning then did some metal work in the shop this afternoon, now I have a place to mount a stereo in this pickup without cutting into the dash..
