EDIT: IIRC that is a weak point in the FPR and it happens often if you over tighten the sensor.
is that a crack where the fps screws in? sorry i cant tell if thats from the cast or not.
if it is a crack, you can try jb weld. if you do take it off and clean it with soap and water then some type of surface prep so there isnt any oil that would mess the jb weld up. im not sure if welding that is a viable solution or go to a junkyard and buy a new to you one.
Well I have the bowl out, cleaned and gooped up. I don't think it's going to work but it's worth a shot.
And now I know why it's called the valley of death lol... I found a socket I thought I had lost like a year ago... I'm also going to clean all these leaves and cracked fuel lines out before I reinstall the bowl.
All of this because I over tightened the fuel pressure gauge... *sigh*
So that's the putty stuff.. I'm going to go around the edges with some black rtv just to seal it up as well a possible. I really hope this works.. I need my truck!
This is a good time to clean this out too.. There's probably a good half inch of dirt and leaves down there...
If it helps any, I parked my truck on an incline sprayed the valley full of degreaser, let it sit for 15 minutes, and then power washed it out. There is not really much that can be hurt by doing this.
Yeah that's what I would do if I didn't have the fuel bowl out already.. Since I have easier access, I'll just shovel it out with my hand and then spray it down really well once I have everything hooked back up.
Lol I might be able to skip the degreaser step with all the diesel I already sprayed everywhere...
Yep, I said the same thing after having that worthless bowl out 3 times to fix a leak and gto so sick of it. I could have that bowl out in 10 minutes. LOL What Aaron said about Driven Diesel is pretty spot on.
So. Same pump in all three. Why is there a $400 spread?? Are the American vs China fittings that much of a price difference? Or am I paying for the brand??
Also, 150/5 vs 20/2 micron filters are pretty different... Is more flow better than cleaner fuel??? Will the pump last longer with the less restrictive filters?
Ugh so many questions and so little time.
Edit: driven diesel is not using Bosch pump but is using a sd factory unit.
the stock sd pump is the bosch pump.
when i made my kit i went to ford just for shiz and giggles, they were asking like 500+ for the fuel pump... idk if they thought i was talking about something else? but i got it online for something like 40.
