New guy with a 50 M47
Hello, I just bought a 50 Merc truck and I came to this forum for info and wisdom! I live in Wisconsin, found it in Iowa and bought it. The flatty is supposedly seized but we will see. I plan to leave it original and just have a nice truck to tool around in. I am currently restoring some other vehicles so I think that the big projects for this truck will have to wait until next spring. The one area that looks tough to find is the trim. If anyone has any ideas, please send them my way. Thanks for the time, Pete.
As I found it!
I now have the brush guard off. Anyone need the guard?

48-50 Mercury truck park lamp lens p/n 21A 13208. It's the same part as used on 42-46 Ford passenger cars. The lens is reproduced and readily available. The bezel is likely the harder part, as it's unique to the Mercury truck, p/n C7RCM 13210.
Info from 48-51 Canadian Ford/Mercury Truck Chassis Parts Catalogue.
Pretty much all of the trim on your truck should be stainless steel, and can be repaired and polished to look like new, unless it's wrapped up like a pretzel.
Welcome to the forum. Nice truck!
