They redesigned the cap in 2007 but didn't change the psi rating.

Had any experience with the Mishimoto Low Temperature Thermostat?? This 6 liter of mine seems really sensitive to heat. and with heat you have more pressure in the cooling system. So i'm tying to keep this thing as cool as possible. I've done gaskets and studs.

Thanks

Ideal would be between 196 and 205. Diesels don't have spark plugs and rely on compression and heat to fire. They are very inefficient when run too cold. The 180's is too cold.

I agree. My 6.0 is way happier at 199-201 than 190. I have been fairly pleased with my Mishimoto 200 t-stat.

As for the OP, what do you mean heat sensitive? Is it puking coolant on the regular?

Ford coolant caps are weak even when new. Go to Advance Auto Parts or NAPA and get a Stant Part # 10238. I thought my egr cooler was going out again and I read a blog about a $5 part and I got one. Problem solved.

How does it do towing? Does it raise everything 10 degrees or not really anything?
I have the updated cap without any issue.

driving the truck by itself. Pressure would go to 8psi with my empty enclosed trailer it goes to 11 psi. temp truck alone is 190 with trailer 204. on level ground. I just replaced the rad, I bleed the air out of it, put the cap on and drove it hard and it developed only 1 psi. What does that mean?? It has never puked out the bottle. and I just did gaskets and studs.

Thanks
