Since I put the winch on, the lower hitch is no longer accessible, or more correctly, an extension would hit the ground as far out as it would have to come. So, my plan is to take a steel plate just larger than the size of the bolt pattern for the winch, weld a receiver under it and drill holes to match the bolt pattern and then get a little longer grade 8 bolt to go through it all. That way it raises my receiver about a foot, but also pushes the rack farther out. So, with that being said, will have to customize the T part of the rack to bring it back towards the cab a bit.
If you look closely you can see the front receiver and then how much farther out the winch is.
On Edit...here is a pic that better shows how far under the winch the original front receiver is.
As I am contemplating adding a winch at this time, could you provide some details on how it was mounted, winch brand, brush bar? Warn is my weapon of choice but, they haven't updated their mounting hardware for the 17's yet. Just like a few opinions to mull over before I make the final selection of choice. Thanks.
Well this is our last weekend at the camp site at Charlie Brown Campground in Eastford, CT. There will be food and booze, a Halloween candy hand out to the children. A few fires and friendly banter.
Then will start the winterizing and storage process for the winter.
Bought a Climate 5th wheel cover at Camping World and will put on when the camper is dry.
ct diesel, Haven't been to Charlie Brown's is a few years, nice campground. We have one more week at Lone Oak in East Canaan,CT then we're going to get at least one more weekend in at Mystic KOA on the 21st - 23rd. Then we'll see if we can sneak once more at Aces High the 1st weekend in November if it doesn't get too cold. Then we'll finally put it to bed for the winter.
