I broke in my 390 open header , neighbors came outside and were video taping me , I think they tried calling cops . But it was Noon time so I never saw any Police lol
Back when I lived in Florida, I had a 78 T/A. It was about 3 in the morning when I got the BB 400 motor installed and ready for break-in. It wasn't 15 minutes before the local sheriff arrived. He gave me 2 options, either cease and desist or get a ticket for noise violation. I was still in the middle of break-in so I said write the ticket. It was only $35. He looked at me while writing the ticked and asked if I was going to stop the motor. I told him no. I explained that he told me I had a choice, and I chose. He just laughed and hung out for a while talking about the car and the engine for almost an hour until he got another call.
I doubt that would work on a city cop, but luckily I didn't live in the city.
Well the headers showed up today. I tried to fit the passenger side quickly, Just to get an idea if they would even be close to fitting. It's going to take some work to make the passenger-side fit. Unthinking take the radius arm crossmember out, and possibly lift the engine a bit. But I think it will fit.
I'm not too worried about the driver side, without the starter down there, there is a lot more room, and I think it will easily drop in.
But I don't have time to fit them and build a system tonight, So for right now the manifold is going back on. I will buy tubing and mufflers first, and then build the system over the 12th-14th of May when I have a few days open.
