Mercon LV?

I can't find any SP at the local auto parts stores. Read at dieselstop that LV has been approved to replace SP. Is anyone using LV? Where do you buy SP?

I am running LV in my Ex, no problem. The dealers still carry SP but LV is the direct replacement.

Just did my regular service with LV for the 3rd time when I installed the 08 tranny pan and filter. Absolutely no problems running it and it was less than SP at the parts store.

Just in case you need to hear one more: When I did the '08 pan/filter conversion both SP and LV were available and still the same price. I put in 9 qts of LV, so the balance in there is SP. No, nada, not a single issue -- I will stick with the LV for future Torqshift fluid changes...

From what I've read, Maxlife is the direct aftermarket replacement for SP and LV.Never tried it and have no experience with it, but if it works for Josh I'll give it a shot

Looking at the specs its darn near identical to LV. SP is surprisingly a very thin fluid.

Dieselfiltersonline is a good place to shop. They will ship free if over $250 (IIRC). Their price is $6.59 a quart for SP and $5.47 for LV.

AutoNation White Bear Lake sells it for $5.79 a quart (in shipments of 12). Shipping is reasonable if you buy from them through FordParts.com. Their LV price is $4.71 a quart.

Ed's price should be near or lower that White Bear.
