I have always been leery of any "truck people" in sales or service departments that don't know that Cummins is not spelled or pronounced with a "G" at the end. Maybe it's just me... but if you don't even know the name of the product you sell then everything else is questionable as far as conversations go.

I have driven the new gm trucks, that was my direct impression.

Perhaps it's our wheelbase preference, the ones you've driven also shorter wheelbase like your currant truck?

I've put a few thousand miles on a 14 GMC 3500 CC SB and it does indeed ride like crap. This mostly has to do with the rear suspension, not the front. Just because the front is IFS, doesn't compensate for the rear. To me, it feels like two different trucks tacked together.

Yep, similar. CC SB as opposed to my SC SB. I just can't imagine anything with IS not riding better than any solid axle though. From cars to trucks to ATVs, even RV's with IS... they all ride better than their solid axle counterparts.

You want a nice riding truck. Go drive a Toyota Tundra. Rides very smooth. Just don't pull anything with it.

I like my Ford and the Solid Axle...

I'd like both. One need not exclude the other. I can't stand the old adage that only solid axles can get the job done with longevity. God forbid we look to build a better mousetrap. Let's just stick with 100 year old tech and say, well it works so let's keep it. Antiquated design loyalty is worse than brand loyalty....

When they make a better mouse trap I am all in. I wish the Tundra had a setting for "grocery getting" and for "working". Seems like you can't have both. Not that to me, my Ford rides all that bad.

And that Ford SD's had a soft suspension setting and a normal one. Rather than a lot of people putting airbags on them.

That's why I love the Ram's new air suspension. Hoping that Ford might do something similar in 17...

Huh? Didn't they pull the space shuttle with it on one of those commercials?

Rodey - LMAO...

I had the big V8 in mine. I could move a lot of weight with it. However, it sure didn't pull it well. Very common problem with them from the factory. It is possible to modify them to pull well though and then you mess up the ride.
