Outside of the fender vent and the F150 type grill, I think this picture looks fine. The picture does not make me want to be an early innovator, I won't be ordering one as soon as orders are being accepted. It's a truck, not a sports car, and to my eye looks fine. I'm someone though that still likes the F250/350/450 series 1999-2016 style just fine. Hope Ford didn't make this change thinking it would get me back in the showroom.
My 2011 was a first year model change truck and my 2015 gave Ford four model years to work the bugs out. I would advise everyone to wait a year or two before jumping in on the new model. My 2015 shifts better than the 2011 and the kinks of the 2011 job1 trucks have gone away. The 2016 trucks might be the best ones Ford produces for a year or two before the problems, and there will be problems, of the 2017s are worked out.
For those that will shop a new brand for their next truck, nothing wrong with that. Just because you hang out here and have owned several Ford trucks, your next truck does not need to be another Ford. Buy what you like and be happy. I bet the internet has at least one Ram forum with good information, conversation, and nice people on it like FTE.
my crib too. I agree 100% and I went from a 2011 to a 2015....
Remember the last year or two for the 7.3l? No one after driving a 6.7L would want to go back, but I sure do remember people kicking themselves (me) for opting for a 6.ohh over a 7.3....
Looks to me are not as important as function either. And while I could do what I need to with a F150 - I like the extra capacity of a F350... I know when I go to Home Depot or the nursery to get soil, rock, or mulch that it is a lot harder to overload the truck.
Looks like a dodge
Usually pictures don't always do a vehicle justice
Options, colors, and angle can make something look weird.
I will be buying a '17 because of my 3 yr trading I'm doing
Not trying to be a Richard, but you guys will NOT buy a new Ford if it looks like this? You'll go to "Gub'mint motors" or Chrysler..? Really?
Just curious - not trying to throw anyone under the bus....or, the F-250 so to speak.
Not sure if that was directed at me or not, but I didn't say I'd go buy another truck period. Not sure what I'd do. I'm not really in the market for a truck as I like mine as it is, but realistically I may be in the market if I do the math. No way I'm buying a truck that looks like that. Don't know what I'll do until the time comes and I see what's available.
For me, I'm not brand loyal to anything I own. I buy what I feel is the best of what's available when the need arises. Just sold my CTS-V but up until last week had a vehicle from all of the big 3. My quads, bikes, and snowmobiles are all different brands from each other and when I buy my second PWC it will be different from the one I own. I had great luck with my last Heartland brand RV but bought something different this time as it suited my needs better. The only thing I'm married to is my wife. Everything else is short term.

I agree with this too.... And i won't bash something until I have seen it and test driven it. And not at LEAST until it is officially released... So much can change.

Savage - NOT directed at you or anyone in particular. I just have a hard time getting my head around the fact that many won't buy what they currently believe to to be the best if the look changes. Looks are secondary to function for most folks. There is a reason they bought the Super Duty. If the look changes, is it sufficient to change brands...?? Apparently so for some folks on here.
NOTHING wrong with this - I would just have a problem with pushing my money to Gub'mint motors or Chrysler after the shenanigans of the past decade. Ford held out and appears to be doing well. They are producing a great product in a capitalist market. Cheers to them. They have done this without the interference of the government and the political beat-down attempted by this administration.
Of course - this is just my opinion and I may very-well be wrong. Jim
I think a little like Jim Pat, but my dollars don't give a crap about how or why a business is still around.
Did you guys know that Henry Ford was an oppressive jerk to work for? He required his workers to keep a neat house, to be married if they were under 22 years old, and ran a rigid manufacturing center where employees weren't allowed to speak with each other. His employees were even required to get company permission to buy a freaking car. If he and his policies were around today he would be held in similar regard to overseas sweatshop operators.
Which is a cool story, but my dollars really don't care. Best tool for the job at the best value. Appearance means about as much to me as the company's history.

For me Jim, I bought my truck based on options. Not looks or brand loyalty. Ford was the only one that had a 1 ton/short bed/supercab. The only one at the time with upfitter switches. The only one with supplemental cab heat. The only one with power fold mirrors. The only one at the time with factory 5th wheel prep. Times have changed and while Ford is still the only one with a few of these options, Ram and Chevy have ones that Ford doesn't that I'd want. I'll never go off road so I'd really prefer IFS for the ride quality that the GM twins have. And, while I'm on the ride quality thing, I love Ram's new rear factory air suspension system on their HD trucks. Will see who has what in two years when I'm ready to upgrade.
