Stay a away from aftermarket sensors. The Aftermarket ICP sensors have been proven to be susceptible to RF interference, one guy had his truck shut down every time he passed through an interception adjacent to a large power substation and another had his shut down EVERY time he keyed up a little 2 way radio.
I was afraid of the aftermarket parts so i ordered oem.
I replaced the icp sensor yesterday but no luck. I will replace the ipr this afternoon. I have my fingers crossed that this fixes it. If not, i think my next move needs to be to order peaces to put together a high pressure gauge to see what i have at the heads. If low, then it must be the pump or an o ring leaking on the top side of an injector that i can not see leaking at idle.
OK guys, I want to thank everyone that responded to help me with my truck. I also want to thank everyone that participates and supports this forum. This site has priceless information that saved me a lot of money. The shop that I took my truck to was gearing up to cost me a lot of time and money which I am short on both right now.
I replaced the IPR this afternoon and thankfully this fixed my problem. WooHoo! What a relief!
I had to remove the turbo boot and plumbing. I noticed quite a bit of oil inside the boot and tube. Is this a indication of my turbo on the way out?
As for the oil in your boots and tube its probably from the crankcase vent (CCV). It is the little rectangular box thing on the driver side valve cover that is hooked to the air intake (assuming yours is like our Fords). You could pull the intake off and see if its oily in there at all, if there is even a little bit of an oily covering, that is most likely your cause. As long as your turbo isn't giving you problems I wouldn't worry.
