Thanks for your interest in my IDI Performance products. I have developed a unique relationship with a quality Stanadyne authorized rebuilder to craft specially made items for our beloved IDI motor. Currently I can offer the following items.
Moose Pump - High flow performance DB2 fuel pump rebuilt from your running core. This pump is for turbocharged engines and an intercooler is highly recommended. Works with Stock injectors, but I recommend you consider a set of Moose Mister injectors to allow it to develop its full potential. I suggest a 7.3 core for lower cost, although a 6.9 core can be used as well.
Baby Moose Pump - Basically a stock rebuild of your running core. There has been a demand for high quality pumps and the bargain basement internet rebuilders have not been delivering consistent quality. A Baby Moose satisfies every time.
Moose Mister Injectors - The only performance injector on the market with an acceptable spray pattern. Proven to develop better atomization and higher boost levels then DPS or comparable "pintle free" injectors. Smooth idle and better fuel milage than DPS stage 1's. Juice up your engine without compromising smoothness or runability. Yes, they are expensive. A lot of custom machining goes into these.
Stock Delphi Double B's - Standard BB letter code injectors. A great companion to the Baby Moose. Pop tested and matched for smooth idle and good running.
Injector return line kits - 6.9 or 7.3 style, includes all O-rings, caps, washers, hose and clamps. 1 kit
High Performance Fuel Feed Line. - Dress up your Pump installation with this high quality flexible line intended to replace your existing hard line from the filter head to the pump. This is a must have item, if you've installed a Hypermax Intercooler, and can no longer change your fuel filter without disassembling either your fuel line or your intercooler piping. This item consists of stainless braided 3/8" hose, with XRP blue and red fittings, and the necessary adapter for your pump. Fits all DB-2 pumps on 6.9 or 7.3 engines.
*new item - The Super Moose Pump. This is a monster DB2 with 30% more fuel flow than the regular Moose Pump. For DECOMPRESSED, HIGH BOOST, INTERCOOLED, STUDDED, seriously rebuilt motors ONLY. Price - if you have to ask, you can't afford it. Seriously, about twice what a regular Moose Pump costs. Allow up to $2K in your budget.
Remember, I'm not trying to make a profit, and I am not a business. My products are just a service I provide to the IDI community. I've yet to recoup my personal R&D investment in the Moose Pump or Moose Mister program, and I don't really expect to. However, I do charge a fee to cover my costs which include shipping and transportation charges (my wife does most of the pump runs between our house and the rebuilder).
The way the pump rebuilds work is this way... you send me the pump and a check . I get your pump rebuilt to my specs (either full Moose Pump, Baby Moose, or Super Moose as you specify). I'll get a bill for labor, calibration, and parts. You'll then send me the difference between the first and the final bill, and I ship your pump back all ready to go. I'm sorry I don't have a way to offer a set fixed price. If I did, it would be unnecessarily high, because I don't want to get stuck handling these at a loss. I've had some cost as much as $1000 so I'd caution you not to get involved if you do not want to commit to a potentially high bill. That's not to say that you couldn't also come out on the cheap side. It all depends mostly on how many parts are needed, and what machining operations need to be performed to bring the pump up to spec. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you send YOUR pump. I've had people send me cores that they have grabbed off of shelves, or from friends, or junk yards. These end up being the MOST EXPENSIVE to rebuild. Why? Because they are often rusty inside, are broken, missing parts, or are in a general state of disrepair due to someone trying to fix it themselves, and then figuring out it wasn't so easy. Stanadyne is very proud of their pumps, and they command a large fee for their parts. Truth be told, if you add up the cost of all their parts, it ends up being about 3 times what a whole pump costs. To that end, I have recieved several junk cores that people have sent me to rob parts off of. If your pump needs a particularly expensive part, we will try to get it from our "pump graveyard" Usually you only end up paying for the labor to remove the needed item. As a good will jesture on your part however, and to return the favor to the next person, I may request that you keep your eyes out for a donor pump to send to me at some future time.
