Torque Pro Questions
Hi everyone. I've been watching the threads about Torque Pro. I recently installed the app on my Galaxy Tab 4 and using an amazon adapter
I have it working and noticed the isspro boost gauge is reading almost half of what Torque is displaying. I have planned to replaced intercooler boots, upgrade the wheel and fix a few oil leaks this spring, but am wonder what reading should I trust? Torque or Isspro gauge.
Also I am trying to find the correct area/procedure to stop Torque from talking to the truck pcm while just watching the gauges. I've looked around in the settings mentioned by Tugly, but not sure if I am in the right area. Getting the random engine shut downs when running the app takes the fun away.
Thanks for the Help.
John

You can't stop the operation unless you exit torque or pull the adapter out of the OBD port. Those engine shut downs are due to a PID that isn't compatible with your PCM.
For instance, my 02 with it's gauge display is great, however when I connect to my dads 2001, it'll kill the motor as long as I have the baro gauge activated. The 01 handles baro differently than the 02 I guess.
Anyway, it's a one way communication but if torque is asking for something the pcm can't supply, it'll kill your truck!
Find the PID impacting your operation.

If you're looking at MAP, that is atmospheric pressure plus boost. Boost is MAP minus the atmospheric pressure - it should be in the latest Torque PID thread.
With all the updates to Torque and Android, I can't find the exact control for one-way communications any more. I know I told Torque to not bother with MPG calculations, don't allow full access to plugins, and I set my OBDII communications to fast - but I have a different adapter than you. Maybe if you tell Torque to not be such a busy-body (reduce the tasks, like MPG) and slow down the communications.
Also... one wrong PID setting can do this to your truck. Did you use the list from the forum, and did you test each PID before adding another?
