Torque for Dummies?
Torque for Dummies?
Ok, as usual this techno idiot is late to the game. Took me 3 years to finally getting around to using AE. Thanks to Tugly's AE class I was able to make sense of it and really see what the truck is doing.
With all the Torque talk I decided to jump in. Now I have the dongle and the app. Have been able to pair it and see the basics so I know it's working. I've done a search here and on google but can't quite figure out how to set up a custom gauge set or page, get rid of gauges that show up as defaults, and how to set up and view 7.3 specific data. I see lots of threads about PIDs and formulas but am confused.
Guess I could get one of the 12 yr olds in the neighborhood to do it for me
but would like to do it myself and learn it.
Do you guys have a link to a thread or website that breaks this thing down for the technologically challenged?
Thanks,

Make sure you see the latest on Torque Converter Slip.
Touch and hold a gauge (without moving), this brings up a menu to delete, resize, move, configure, etc....
Touch and hold a blank space on the screen (without moving), this pops up a menu to add a gauge.
While playing with the ***** and buttons, I urge people to disable Torque's ability to send commands... for now. This may cripple some functions you want (or not), but sending commands helter-skelter without knowing exactly what's going on has stalled Stinky and made the dash freak out. I wasn't even trying to send a command when this happened, I just had a bug in my EOT gauge after an OS update coupled with a Torque update.
Just so I don't scare the living daylights out of people, that happened in the earlier stages of my OS and an earlier version of Torque. I use Torque Pro any time I drive Stinky out of the city limits (which is a lot), and I haven't had any issues in scores of connections. If anybody had cause to avoid using Torque, it was me... but I use it all the time with confidence.
I believe Torque Pro can now do CCTs, KOEOs, KOERs, and Buzzes, but I haven't yet researched how this is accomplished. Maybe somebody else is playing with it... I dunno. I have AE for that, and I'm in no rush to touch the screen and say "What's this do?" *poof*
