I use both, SGII and Torque APP. Not at same time though. The Torque APP is a better code reader than the SGII, but, I don't like having to mount my phone every time I get in the truck. So, for day to day monitoring, I use SGII. Longer trips, like next weeks camping, I'll use the Torque APP and data log the trip.
SGII = $160 or so. Can find cheaper.
Torque APP = $4.95 + an adapter. $25 for cheep one. I bought a cheep one first, didn't work consistently. Ended up with the PLX Kiwi Bluetooth. The cheep ones are hit and miss. So, your call on that.
Torque APP is only for android. Neither one will do Fuel psi and EGT's
There is Dashboss for iphones. I have never seen or used this one. So, I will defer this to someone else.
Yes, the Torque APP reads EOT. The list of PIDs it will read is long. Not nearly as long as SGII, but adequate. Here is what mine looks like. I don't have it fancied up like some do.
