Round 2: Now what

I wish i was posting about cold start problems or something but nope...just dead throttle pedals. I thought my truck was fixed but apparently not...the first good snow storm we had maybe 3 weeks ago, my pedal died once. A week ago it died 3 times in another snow storm, and then today again it died in the snow. Except today...instead of just restarting and getting on my way, i restarted, drove 5 feet and it would die again. 13 times until it worked again. I didnt pay attention to much because i was on the side of the highway, in a snowstorm, with my sister...but it looked like right around when i hit 1500rpm it would die. Not sure if that could play a part

It doesn't always decide to throw codes but when it does, it is P2139 and P2140..and now P132B as well, not sure if related.

For those who aren't aware, i dealt with this all last winter as well...paid quite a bit of money to "fix it" too.

So all that i can recall that was done would be...
-Swapped throttle pedal from a trouble free parts truck
-Swapped engine harness
-Swapped body harness
-Changed throttle pedal wiring pigtail
-ICP sensor (i believe...i have a new one here as well, need to change it)
-BARO sensor
-EBP sensor is currently unplugged (i have the inferred EBP strategy) i need to replace this and plug it back in
-Fuel pump heater is currently unplugged

Im not sure where to go from here, i dont want the last mechanic who worked on it touching it again. It seems to only happen in the snow/cold...it did not happen once all summer and i put quite a few miles on it, so i was rather surprised/frustrated when it started again. I know everyone was out of ideas last time..but i figured i would at least try posting something again.

I would honestly just like to run through all the troubleshooting again..and just pretend like this is the first time, since clearly nothing was fixed before

Oh, and this truck does NOT have adjustable pedals

I don't really have any suggestions but damn Miles, your truck hates the cold. Time to move to Florida or something.

You know, when you figure it out its going to be something simple. Seems like the biggest pains are fairly easy fixes once you find the problem.

I was told to try unplugging the fuel pump heater a few days ago and it seemed to be good for a little while...guess not

Hey Miles,

Have you considered a water leak being the cause? When the other replacements were being swapped out did anyone see or report any tell tale signs of water?

I think I recall these trucks having a leak issue from the A-pillar occasionally? Or maybe it's a leak from somewhere else? Any rust or damaged panels underneath? Any gasket problems with the front windshield?

If it goes away in the summer and reappears in the winter I wonder if it's worth exploring? You know what it's like driving in 6" of slush on a highway being from New England ... or snow sitting on a truck and melting slowly. I know I keep mine plugged in 24-7 in the winter. If it sits for a day or 2 or 3 after a heavy snow, the block heater does enough to melt the snow on the hood and then it quickly refreezes. Sometimes my entire front end is caked in heavy ice.

I just had the front windshield replaced on Wednesday and the guy seemed to do a good job so i dont think thatll leak...and it was replaced because it cracked. I dont ever recall hearing about a leak issue and ive never seen any water anywhere. No rust issues or damage anywhere. The snow storms when its happened, is always right at the beginning. Like today...there was maybe an inch of snow on the hwy, same with the other times, so there wasnt much potential for a leak i dont believe.

I drove in some crazy rain storms this summer, a few i actually had to pull over for because it was raining so bad, and i never had any problems. I have heard about that a lot but while i think it is somehow snow related, i dont think its a leak...at least from up top

So it only acts up in the snow/cold, that's interesting.

Has the pedal ever gone dead in the summer?

Like everyone else I thought you had this problem licked.

Man so sorry Miles , this truck has been a Pita, give these guys a call Monday and pick there brain cells, Left Coast Diesel 925-682-8088 tell them your from FTE ( ford truck Enthusiast) just in case they forgot. Jojo will answer the phone's but don't get caught up in the sexy voice ask for there 6.0 specialist tell them Scott sent you good luck . now for my 2 cents did the new harness get the cam crank sensor? might be something to scope out pull the drivers battery and plate make sure the cam wire is not pinched between the wheel well and Bat plate I would think that alone would throw a code but

Yeah its not always in the snow but it's never happened in the summer. It first started in late December in2013 and went til probably late March...and then just started again 3-4 weeks ago. I talked to previous owner who is a good friend and he said it never happened to him either

Anybody have the actual trouble shooting chart from ford on the app switch?
The one from coffee table books is not real helpfull. Over the last several years I have seen posts of app problems with no real resoloution and really make no sense.
Everything I read says that the footfedal commands will be ignored[defaults] but nothing about shutting the engine down if it fails. Something has to be a common issue.
